Hey lads, well this morning I tried to run FM 2006, wacked the disk in, then it made this huge screeching noise, and it just stops, I clicked on the FM 2006 shortcut, and it comes up with ''insert the correct CD-rom etc'', please lads, I'm dying here. Please help. :)

Thanks mate, i've tried that, and it doesn't do anything, well the problem is, the disk runs, then it makes this wierd sound, and stops, plus i uninstalled the game, it won't install because of this disk problem.

The other disks work fine, it's just the FM 06 disk that ****s up, it was workin' perfectly yesterday, this is really pissing me off.

There are ways around this, please note that I am not advocating evasion of disc-checking, it's just that on some rare occasions it really is legitimate.

If you have WinXP, try right clicking on the exe file (NOT the shortcut), and run it in Windows NT 4.0 compatibility mode. Sometimes this fixes incorrect disc readings.

If the worst comes to the worst and NOTHING you do works, you can always create an image of the disc with alcohol 120% or Nero and mount it with Daemontools (please note: it's only illegal if you download an image without owning the original disc, creating your own backup is not). Again, run it in NT 4.0 compatibility and it should work.

Try a working around. As I said somewhere before, cracks(eh, working arounds) aren't illegal they only can be used in an illegal practice, but they are as legal as my own cat.

I buy alot of games including FM but I mostly set cracks on them so that I don't have to swoop CD's everytime I want to play another game.

Airight lads, i've returned it and got a brand new disk, i put it in, and it did the same thing!!!

WTF!!!

What's the problem?

All the other discs work, just the FM 2006 doesn't!!!
