Help with changing GK jersey

I am wanting to add a kit for the Derby county keeper but when i import one using kit raptor it just stays as the generic kit but when i use the same kit for chelsea it shows up properly. i am assuming there is a setting that i need to change for Derby county, but where is it?

Ok...here is what you do - it's really easy - 2 steps.

1. Open the fifa.db file with dbmaster 08.
Now, on the left side go to "temkits" and go down to team id "91" (that's the id for Derby County).

You wil see 2 lines for id 91. One has kittype 0 and the other has a 1 (home and away jerseys). Select one of the lines and press F4 to copy it and than F5 to insert it (or you the pulldown menu to copy and insert). On this new created line (may show up at the bottom of the database), change the kittype to "2". Save it and exit.


2. Now use MonkeyDragons PNG Kit editor and import the gk for Derby County.

Don't know. I'm new at this but the method I posted seems to work. So far I've imported all the goal keepers for MLS, German Bundesliga and Portuguese Bwin league. The other teams still use the default random kits assigned by the game.

Am I doing anything wrong? Why do i need to add them to the zdata.big files?

I'm going to keep using my method until someone shows me an easier one. Why make it more difficult than it has to be?

I just read on another forum about editing the zdata files to 'add' the fsh file for the newly added GK kit. So I suppose that the game won't recognize an added line in the fifa.db \ teamkits files. That's all, I'm just worried if I did it I'd stuff my game , but if you've done it , then, great work.

I don't know enough about editing to know, I just thought you'd know more than me.


Not having a go at you, but I just did as suggested and it killed my game. Luckily I had backed-up my fifa.db file.

Yeah, I read about adding files to the zdata.big files but I had someone pm me and tell me about the method I described. I tried it and it worked just fine.

Doing a quick search I've found at least 2 other posts describing the same method. Seems to work fine.

Why did it kill you game? Did you change anything else? I'm not sure why it would kill your game. Like i said, I've updated the goal keepers in 3 leagues like that.

The game wiped all all info for every other team. i.e there is not one single player in any other team but the one that I imported the GK kit too. I'll just wait until CM08. Glad it worked for you.

using db 08 to add the gk kit worked just fine the only downside is that after you finish you have to go reset all of your teams so that you lose any created player that you have made. i also lost my manger mode games b/c i was using created players. but i now have a gk kit for my team.

Hi,

To clarify, MonkeyDragon's program creates the .fsh file in the zdata, Kitraptor does not. So, if you use kitraptor to add a 3rd or GK kit that is not in the game, you would need to create the .fsh in the zdata after updating the fifa.db.

Hi, As long as you do not change the database other than add to the rewards (to add the 3rd kit as buyable) and the table teamkits, you can reset the squads from within the game without ruining your manager career. I've done it many times after adding new kits. Hope that helped.
