sorry people i still dont get it though, i've been staring at the group table for an hour and still cant figure out how a 2-2 draw can illiminate them.. i mean what if italy wins by 5 goals or something ?? wouldnt that mean italy tops the group on goal differnce?

they could of scored 100 goals against bulgaria and they still woudnt have got through,if 3 teams are tied in first place only the goal diference in the matches they played against each other count, any goals scored against bulgarioa dont count because they finished last.

Sweden win the group.
Denmark also qualify for the quarter-finals, as runners-up.
Italy are eliminated, by virtue of scoring fewer goals in games among the three teams on five points.

its gay tho. what the **** kinda rule is this, all three teams tied between eachother and therefore this rule is stupid. but anyways, italy didnt get the better goal-difference, so blah.

its meant so that some team that you beat doesnt pass above you if you end up level.......

thats what the rule's there for, and i believe it is fair............. i mean if it was just goal difference, bulgaria could have just gave up and died in the last game, giving italy 100 goals and letting them go through

thats just how it turned out this time though...... i think its generally more fair to compare equal teams by the game that they played against each other

i agree with that, if Sweden beat italy 2:1 it would only be fair Sweden advances if they were equal on points. but noone beat noone (except for Bulgaria :D), and yet two teams advance on in-between results. i dont say drop these rules, just modify them.

Even if the Swede vs Denmark was 1-1, The Italian will still not qualified..becoz da Second place, Denmark beat Bulgaria 2-0. Italy score the same but conceded the 1..dat makes a different...

if Italy had gone out and won by 3+ goals and Denmark and Sweden tied 1-1, 0-0, 10-10, 400-400, why wouldnt Italy go through?

is it because Italy's goals for against the Swedes and Danes was a total of 1, while Sweden's and Denmark's would be 2+?

would you agree with the rules if Denmark was in the situation Italy is now? Its a dumb rule, and i understand noone beat noone here, thats why i think its a ******* dumb idea for one of them to advance on match results, instead of goal difference. Either way, Italy wouldnt progress.
I dont get it why the amount of goals matters that much, i pointed this out in another thread, i dont understand how a 4-2 victory at home is weaker than a 3-1 victory at home. Its the same **** here, only the outcome should count, which in this case was all ties.
