I got a nasty virus on my computer, forcing me to format my computer. Luckily i had backed up my Ajax game. So i go through the normal process by installing the CM game, then the update to v3.698, then installing my Ajax.sav game to the CM directory.

But then, when i load up the game, i get this (see pic) And when i click continue, i get an error saying the game has to shut down. Any ideas??

oooo **** man that sucks... the transfer change thing never happened to me, but I know what you mean about the error... happened to my old Milan game, had to re-install everything and start a new game :(

Hmmm, i forgot to install the update :P but now that ive done that, i cant even get the Ajax.sav from the cd onto the hard drive! LIFE SUCKS! Haha, any ideas?

Nope, I believe your f*cked. :( The same kind of thing happened to me a while ago. I found that repeatedly smashing my head into the table and screaming "f*cking windows!" helped me feel a little better about it though. You could try that. :)

Oh dear. This is like watching Elias in 'Platoon' trying to make it back to the helicopter while the V.C unload clip after clip of ammo into his back. You know he isn't gonna make it, but you can't help but to hope that he will. :funny:

I think that I tried everything, yes. If you sort it out though it will be good for next time it happens to me. Good luck John Arne, I know how much you love that Ajax game. :mrpimp:

Im also having problems with just installing the game normally now. I install CM, then i install the official update to make it v3.968, then i install CM sorted to get all the transfers up to date but it get this, (see pic)

Thing is, im not exactly sure what folder to install the CM sorted update into, can anyone shed some light? :rolleyes: I havent installed this game for ages since ive been playing Ajax.sav for the last year. :mrpimp:

It happened to my game. I got really far and then I got a virus and everytime I presse continue on any save game it would tell me I had preformed an illegal operation. I formatted shortly after and lost the whole data. It was a shame (I had one virus infecting over 1000 files on my PC :()

Haha, that latest error, is just trying to open up the game without the Ajax saved game. Im just trying to install the game and open it up to start a new season. But thats what im getting.

I install CM

I install the official patch to get it to v3.698

i install CM sorted to get all the transfers up to date into the CM directory

then i get those errors posted above. :f***:

So..... just leave the game uninstalled and forget about it? Im not talking about Ajax.sav in the last 2 posts. Im talking about just installing the actual game Championship Manager here. Am i clear on this point now?

I want to start a new season with Liverpool, but after i install the actual Championship manager game, and when i go to click on the icon on the desktop i get the errors in the picture above.... :mad:

You could try installing without the update. It seems that is where the problem is. If it still won't work, then maybe it's your disk that is no good.

Hmmm, must be the disk, i installed the game from the disc, thats all installed and i get the error as posted in the pics above only with its saying v3.9.60. :confused:

Withdrawl symptoms are kicking in. :crazyboy:
