God I am jealous. My FM06 is a waste because even playing with 5 leagues from 1 country is too much for my computer. 20 minutes into the session, without even playing my first game, it always says that FM is low on memory, then a few sceonds later it'll say that FM ran out of memory and has been terminated. Annoying! Looks like it's FM05 for me, grrrrr... No SG United with myself in the game, grrrr...Tom said:This is what mine looks like:
Anyways, it's good to see that you've made a transfer to Sports Interactive. Personally, I've never played TCM or CM, as FM05 was my first (and it seems, only) management game to be played. From the few minutes I have had with FM06, I can tell you that the detail is incredible, with things like Team Talks (actually, I haven't been able to do one of those yet since I haven't played a match in 06... grr) and very good training regiments. There are a lot of positions from simple ones like DM (defensive midfielder) to more complicated ones like WB (wing back). This isn't a game like FIFA where you can buy whoever you want as long as you have the set amount of money. The bidding and contract reasoning is excellent, but at times can be realistically frustrating. You have to not only manage your team, but also your players. I believe the Team Talks help with that, but also there are options to praise/criticise your players in the media and to give warnings/fines to your players for various reasons. All of this is part of the man management, which is an excellent aspect of the game.
All in all, FM is an incredible experience, and one that can easily overtake other aspects of your life.

I've got one question. Speaking of tactics, I've finished setting them but I don't know how to drag those lines that determines how players act (going forward, coming back to support the midfield, etc.). The default formation of Juve had that but I decided to change some positions and I can't get it back. After I'm finished with this I'll post a screen in the Tactics thread.

Sorry to crash this thread a little, but I don't want to start another one (as I've cluttered up this forum enough I think), but could someone go over how to start a new game again as far as picking leagues, size, and details go.

Anyway, can someone share his opinion on this player here? I got him from the U20 team and he's been awesome in the pre-season friendlies and against Internazionale too. Now I want to make him able to play as a defensive-midfielder too (if I select DM as the New Position on the Training Overview screen, does that mean that he will start adapting to that?).
Also, I'm trying to sign Nigel de Jong and I'll keep Zebina as his sub if I succeed in transferring him.

He's no where near ready to play DM at this point in my opinion. Think of what you want your DM to do for your team. Win the ball and start the attack. He's very poor on his first touch and a poor header of the ball (jumping AND heading). Also he is probably at the minimum of strength that you'd want to throw out there in a very physical position. And finally, his marking is awful and his passing is pretty poor. He needs a few years in the Reserve Squad.
But just as a tip, it never hurts to rotate young Reserve Team Players in for games that aren't crucial. It's amazing how much a few first team appearances a year will do for young players. Oh, and finally, before you buy anyone make sure to scout them because they could have a release clause. One thing I dislike about this game is that release clauses don't count unless you know about them. And the only way to know about them is to scout the player. ALSO, sometimes when you're at a big club if you're trying to get a player at a smaller club, it helps to declare your interest in him before you make a bid, because that could unsettle the player and you can get him for cheap when you decide to actually make a bid.
Oh, and make sure to check and see when your players' contracts expire. That young player is out of contract in the comming summer.

A player with 1 for determination can never be any good IMO. And determination doesnt change, so he will always have a 1 for it

Anyway, I defeated AS Roma. It was a really tight match but both teams had many opportunities. And about Zlatan's situation: he's a starter in most of the games but he can't find the net yet. Should I continue posting info of my career in this thread or just pics in the screenshots thread?
