Help! Laptop monitor problem!

For some reason since the past month every now and then when I turn on my laptop my monitor seems to have a problem. The actual screen that shows up is only using part of the monitor. Let me explain it better: lets say the monitor is about 15 inches but when i turn the computer on it only displays the image on 10 inches out of those 15 inches. The image isnt cut or anything it only shrinks to fit into those 10 inches the remaining 5 inches stays black!

Sometimes I would fix this problem by unplugging the laptop for the electricity current and plugging it again but now it doesnt seem to be working anymore!

Please help me!!

you mean you have a black border surround your screen? i think you have disable the Panel Fit option. let say your laptop maximum resolution was 1280 x 800 and you are using 1024 x 768 with your Panel Fit option disable, then you'll realize that your screen is not fitting the whole monitor.

turn the Panel Fit option on or change the resolution to maximum. for me, i just right click on my desktop > Graphics Options > Panel Fit > Enable

not sure about yours though, hope its help :)

it's not a black border, like in the botton there are some bars and lines then to the right there's just a thick black bar.

For a CRT monitor should be fairly simple. Just use the monitor settings itself or set it to default. (Those menu buttons on the CRT monitor)
