Has anyone seen Donner's Superman II? It's amazing!

I recently found out that a new Superman II was released.

This version is the original Superman 1's director (richard Donner) and has brand new special effects <which look fantastic ...like the phantom zone)

I didnt know that Superman I and II were filmed pretty much back to back and that they had over 3-4 hours of footage which was cut into Superman II (including several versions of the ending)

Well, I heard that the new director who replaced Donner (aparently Donner was removed cause of the Marlon Brando law suit.........but NOT 100% sure) and didnt want it to look or feel like Superman I at all (he hated the epic feel of part 1 for some reason).

Anyways if you liked Superman II ........you will LOVE Donner's version. It's completely different and they re-inserted original Brando scenes.
There are so many new scenes, (and changes of order AND score) that it's almost a completely new movie.
Its much faster paced and all in all a far superior version than the original.

Without clicking any links or reading anything in this thread, i dont suppose this is about the original Superman II is it?

You know, the one with all the nasty villains, there's three of them.

its a different cut than the one you originally saw. the studio took the movie away from Donner after he filmed it and they cut it and released it themselves without him.
not sure if they ever saw this cut and didnt like or if donner did it afterwards.

actually those are just clips of the cut (as you can see, its not in the right order <ive seen the cut .......you can rent it as it just came out on special DVD or ..."do something else" (cant say the word here folks )

- but yeah, Donner filmed Superman I and II back to back and went through 75 % of Superman II but decided to stop filming for the release of part I. (it was supposed to be a 2 part epic)

However problems with Brando caused all of his scenes for Superman II (which are many.........and thus really makes this a jewel for movie fans to have about 10 minutes of new Brando footage + bloopers). So Donner was taken away too.......which disgusted Chris Reed and the girl who playeD Lois (thus why she's barely in Part 3..........which sucked anyways)

Anyways, the new director came and hated Donner's "epic style" (thus why Sups 2 feels totally different than Sups 1). He aparently hated the "american epic" feel Donner gave Superman I. Anyways not only did he completely re cut Superman II, filmed the 25% of the rest in his own way but RE-filmed some originally filmed scenes.

All in all it was still good (pretty much the best hero movie of all time at that point and prob till the new Xmen 2's /Batman begins hero movies............but Donner's is a completely new movie (pretty much), re cut and re ordered with completely new scenes AND Special effects (21st century effects here).

Also the story is pretty different too.

But the cool thing is that it said that there was about 3.5 hours of footage shot for superman II and cut into a 2 hour movie..............so there's ALOT of things they took out. (IE: I loved General Zod's "FREEEE!!!!!" scream in space......it was really dark/potent and much different than the original feel of superman II. (where Zod was more comedic than really threatening <though he was still awesome>)
