According to the STEAM website, there is a collector's edition available of this game which contains extra stuff, but I have not seen this for presale on any UK games website. Can you buy this on disc anywhere? The only version i have seen is the plain vanilla one, which has Counter Strike Source added. The Collector's edition will include the original Half Life Source, plus a t-shirt. Has anyone seen this for sale anywhere but on Steam's site?

what protection is the game using? Is it starforce? Some friend bought it and he told me it takes very long to verify/register the game...

From my experiuence with the game, and from what i've seen from others till now, to play the game with good detail/performance u need a 9600pro 2ghz P4, 512 DDR333+ ram. It's a prety demanding game. ATi cards play this game MUCH better

You don't need an interent connection to play but it's needed to register the game once it's installed wich only takes about 20 minutes.

smoothly? With that pc? hehe, u'r asking too much. To get that u need to pay for an upgrade. with an nvdia gfx card, HL2 is 2nd-3rd most computer-demanding game u can get atm. It is gonna play tho, for sure.
