Anyone remember that it came out on the Friday before release date last year in a number of branches of a certain well known UK chain, that shall remain nameless.

Anyone checked out that certain UK chain this time??

I've moved to London since then and don't know my local brach to check.

A whole bunch of us had it a week early, so it IS possible.

Nah, no luck -- "it's out next week, mate. Friday." Same at all 3 branches I rang.

Mind you, the bloke in Game said "we might have it in on Wednesday or Thursday, so you could try then." I've heard Konami is shipping on the 22nd, so it sounds as if Game is the place to start bugging a few days early...

...personally I'm gonna try on Tuesday afternoon

Try your local independant games shops, they tend to release games early in situations like:

A: You happen to be good mates with them (and over the time you've known them , you've spent enough there to own shares!)
B: They want to get the jump on the big chain stores- often they'll lower the price too! Also in the situation that a competitor breaks the release date - the big stores can usually respond.

I reckon if you shop around, you may well be playing PES2 round about Wednesday!

I walked past "Game" in Ealing and saw the wall COVERED in PES2 boxes.

I ran in from the street like a kid full of E512 Sunshine Yellow, only to find a little sticker on each box saying "Out on Friday, order your copy now"
