Well, mathematically you're alive! Now you have to beat Ghana...based on this performance, Italy-Czech will be pretty even so even a Ghana win may not guarantee....Bruce Arena has too much loyalty towards McBride!

Finally a group where all 3 teams can make it on the last match of the group. Gilardino goes to ground every chance he gets. He is a great player though

I wonder what kind of game we will see vs. Czech republic... I hope Italy learned something out of this horrible performance and will change their attitude. What happened to the team that played vs. Ghana? Great attitude, clean, beautiful play... all gone. (:/)

Arena not playing Johnson was absolutely ridiculous. We would have won this game if Arena would have brought him in for McBride.

Well done USA. They did deserve more, though they never really looked like scoring. And that bizarre own goal... Fair enough, they had 9 on the pitch for almost the entire second half and kept on playing well.

well, first of all, i don't want to even mention the ref.

but hats off to the u.s. team. i think they played their hearts out, and they played so much better than the last game. they just couldn't score, but we all knew that was gonna be tough against italy, especially with a man down. but they attacked and they created chances and opportunities, which was encouraging. i think they were the better side and deserved the draw, at least. i would have liked to see eddie johnson or even josh wolff play in the last 10 minutes...mcbride played his heart out but looked exhausted on his own.

i was a littly disappointed with italy's display. it seemed all the players on the field were confused too with the ref's decisions and calls...nobody seemed to know what to expect. but for a world class side, i would have expected they play better than they did. they really should have put the game away. i understand the totti substitution...with the way the game went, he probably would have gotten sent off too.

but i applaud the u.s. team.

interesting what they're saying about the ref...they said he was one of 5 refs in the last world cup suspended for "irregularities"

I think it was great holdup by USA, with that 9 men team!!! Italy surely played pathetic! Nice saves by Keller!!! Hope USA beats Ghana!!!

totally gutless performance from Italy in the 2nd half. I hope the press slaughters them tomorrow.

What was going on with the ref? All I saw were killer tackles landing left and right and the ref didn't even whistle. It looked more like a rugby match than a football match.

Most certainly... I already see the headers of La Gazzetta Dello Sport en Corriere Dello Sport talking about a scandalous Italy.

heh, brazilian comms said the ref was perfect. Jose Roberto Wright even said he's the best south american ref in his opinion. The only let down in their opinion was the linesman in Italy's attack in the second half.
