Who's your big pick?

As a rock maniac I find it very hard to choose... the second! 'Coz in my opinion you can't get bigger than Hendrix! But hey, here are 8 more options, if you don't choose any you name it!

On the poll I mixed:

Hard Rockers Angus Young, Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde

Great Bluesmen Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King

And psycho Shredders Steve Vai and his mentor Joe Satriani

Anyone else you can remember? I'd add guys like Malmsteen, Slash, Frank Zappa, etc. but the poll's limited...

:rockman: AND ROCK ON!

Yes, Hendrix is God. He has to be my pick, with Page coming with a close 2nd.

The list goes on, though.

Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, Dimebag Darrel (the undisputed King of Shredding), Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads, Joe Perry, Carlos Santana, Kirk Hammet, etc.

I would say Hendix is the greatest of all time, he prettymuch reinvented the way guitars can be played and was briming with talent. There are a couple of biggies missing from your list though, I'm not a big Guns 'n' Roses fan, but Slash is unbelievably talented. Also, Brian May was as gooda guitarist for Queen as Mercury was a front man, awesome talent. This would be my toplist:

1. Jimi Hendrix
2. Brian May
3. Slash
4. Bob Dylan
5. Tom Waits
6. David Gilmour
7. Bruce Springsteen
8. Dave Davies (for pretty much inventing Heavy Metal)
9. B.B. King
10. Frank Zappa

What the hell? No Slash in the poll? DUDE!

Anyway, I wouldn't brand all of them rock. I Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix are blues guitarists in my book. Greatest rock guitarists imo are Slash, Jimmy Page and Randy Rhoads, always coming up with great riffs and leads. Dimebag Darrell, Zakk Wylde and Kirk Hammett I envy because of their technical abilty.

clapton and stevie are my picks. the men are nothing short of gods on guitar. and you can't talk about guitarists without mentioning gary moore, even if he is more of a blues guy

In my concept of guitarist, all those guys pretty much suck at it, with the exception of, perhaps, Page, BB King and Hendrix.

My pick would be The Edge, by far. Tom Morello also deserves a mention.

My vote goes to Angus. That man is a phenomen, a genius.
But my second vote would go to Jimmy, as he plays the guitar like nobody else on earth.
I would also like to mention The Edge from U2.

My Official opinion is that you aren't official enough to officially name this official thread, whos officialness is currently being disupted, as being official.
