Gray Wolf Editing Group (National Teams - CMP Patches)

ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE IMPORTING ANY PATCH EVER!!!

The Gray Wolf Editing Group has no affiliation to the Turkish Revolutionary Movement the Grey Wolves. It is my belief that it is nearly impossible to pick a name these days without being remotely close to some other organization's name. We chose to spell the name properly, after the animal.

I chose to change the name of "Liioadin's National Team Patches" because I felt that the other editors weren't getting enough credit for the amazing amount of work they were doing. So many times MrRomaniac or another editor would spending an hour or more on a patch and send it to me. I would put the finishing touches on it (maybe 5 minutes) and I would post it. Everyone would thank me and appreciate "my patch" when really MrRomaniac did the vast majority of the work.

The change to the Gray Wolf name is just to show that we are an organization with many contributers rather than one guy making tons of patches.

In the next couple of days I will be editing this front page to include important information about our patches as well as beginning a list of all those who contribute to our projects. I will start making a list of projects we are working on and begin to post some files in this thread as well.

If at any point you think you can contribute to our patches PLEASE feel free to contact me. More help is always appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rather than explaining individually to each new member how specifically we edit I'm going to detail our proceedures on this post so that anyone can edit and send us updates consistant with our standards without having to wait for a response from me.

First there are two main projects right now. Classic or Modern national teams. You have to decide which you are interested in. It doesn't matter which you choose, we are happy to have the help in either era.

For Classic National Team Editing

First, you need to know which tournament we are working on. Check the latest posts to see who others are working on to find this out. As I type this we are testing the 1934 world cup and working on the 1938 world cup teams. Second, identify which team you want to edit. Try to do the best teams first and the worst last. So finalists would be completed before teams that lost in the first round. Those teams would be done before teams that didn't qualify.

Second, refer to the list for the tournament that we are editing to find the value assigned to the team you chose. I will be posting that list soon for the 1938 world cup. If a team is assigned a value of 65 for example, all of it's players will fall between a rating of 65 to 55.

The only exception to this rule arises when a player is on their national team for two different world cups and the team had drastically varying results. An example would be Spain in 1970 they have a rating of 76 in '74 spain has a rating of 91. I'm likely to modify these values but for the purposes of this discussion... You want to use the higher value for players who participated on both teams.

So Player A is given a value of 89 for the '74 world cup. Give him a lowered value during the '70 tournament but not as low as the rest of the team. I wouldn't lower him any lower than 10 points or so.

The other thing you can do in rare circumstances is to give him a maximum rating in '70 which is a 76 then bump him up 10 points for the next year which would be 86. That's 5 points lower than the max rating for the team but it is still within the suggested value of 91-81. Be sure if they are starters in both tournaments that their rating is high enough for the better team. In this case that would be 1974.

I know all of that is confusing but use your best judgement and if a situation like this occurs, contact me if you have any questions or want my opinion. You can also post here.

You can also boost ratings slightly above the specified values for players who are named golden ball or golden boot winners. Any other prestigious award would be alright as well.

That's about all. Just find the value for the team. Make sure all players attributes are within the parameters. When you are done, check their potential and make sure it is as high or higher than their overall strength. Also, in the early years check hair styles to make sure all hair is short (don't use hair style 12 or 16, they are pony tails). Be careful using facial hair, most players were clean shaven but not all. For some time we will be making sure that players are wearing long sleeves as well. they actually wore 3/4 length most of the time but that's much tougher to recreate.

We are trying to be uniform in the way we do logos and flags so if you are interested in doing either of those graphics please contact me.

If you are interested in doing classic kits contact me as well. Right now I'm doing them all but I'm happy to share the load.

Let me know if you have any questions and don't forget to create a post on this thread if you begin working on a team. That way no one else makes it too.

------------------------------------------

Modern national teams are much more complicated. I will be creating a section for modern editing but the focus at the moment is classic teams so for now I'll stop.

Nice! G.W.E.G.
I like the part with "The Gray Wolf Editing Group has no affiliation to the Turkish Revolutionary Movement the Grey Wolves." :innocent_smile_1:
BTW, (I'm too lazy to send an e-mail to you for this), have I sent you Namibia update? If yes, I just want you to know that the two Risser really are white, so don't modify that.

Doesn't look like you sent Namibia yet but I'm glad you said something about the Risser's I probably would have changed it.

Alright. I set up an e-mail and filefront account for Gray Wolf Editors. The user name is GrayWolfEditing and e-mail is that @yahoo.com.

If you want passwords to access these accounts please let me know. These will be SHARED accounts. Our filefront account will have seperate folders for each user so they can organize it as they want to.

I already set up temporary folders for MrRomaniac, Waris, PauloRossi and Liioadin.

Contact me for access so we can all share our work together and with the public!

Alright I am still using my old filefront for the patches I make myself. I might put a couple more gray wolf patches there just to have them all in one spot. We should be able to begin transfering over to the new filefront account pretty soon.

I did want to post our first updates on this forum however.

Hey bud, Great to hear! I think we are all set on modern national team kits. Perhaps making some classic kits and minis would be good for the project paulorossi is working on.

We also need roster updates. I have kind of a specific system I use but I can teach it to you.

Tell me what you are most interested in and we'll go from there.

We're working on rosters and lineups for the national teams. I origionally released most of them over a year ago and many of them are out of date.

I will be posting a list of teams that require updates and you can pick them off one by one and do which ones you want.

Anyway, as I mentioned there is a specific attributes system that we use to keep all released patches in sync with each other. I can explain it to you if I can catch you on MSN one day. I'll send you all the important files at that time too.

I think we are about 6 hours apart. I am normally on in the mornings between 10:00 and 13:00 so that would probably be the evenings for you. We'll try to catch up whenever possible.
