Gravis Eliminator

Hi there,

I installed Fifa 2003 about a week ago but i initially couldn't get my gravis eliminator gamepad to work. then after many hours looking for solutions on the net, i managed to fix it.

So i then started playin Fifa with the gamepad and this seemed to be very choppy, unlike when i was using the keys. So, i changed my 'side select' from the gamepad to the keyboard and started playing again. It was now smooth gameplay like it was before.

Now i have stopped using the gamepad as it makes the gameplay choopy. Any one else experience a similar problem? Any solutions as to why this happens would be appreciated!

Using the eliminator I could only run the game at 1280x1074 at medium detail as it was choppy, after reading this I tried my microsoft sidewinder and it runs ok at 1600x1200 high detail.

I much prefer the eliminator as a controller but something needs to be done to remedy the problem.

No idea what could cause it though.

Just another thing about the eliminator, it does not appear to be configurable whereas the sidewinder is.

Obviously some sort of bug.

....Also, the Eliminator's don't last very long. I've gone through two in the past couple of years. I love the controller though, and tried to switch but just can't. Window's just quit's 'reading' them after some time.

I thought it was just the game that was causing the choppy animation so i added that "RENDER_EVERY_AI_FRAME=1" line and the game run's like a dream (I switched =1 to =2 to avoid the occassional slow motion on free kick's and corners). I never considered it could be the controller. I'm at work now, but i can't wait to get home and remove that line, unplug the controller and try it with the keyboard.
