My favourite places to shop for good youths with high ratings are France and Belgium. Brazil has a few gems too. Look up Martin Scott from Livingston. 19 yr old CM with 57 skill. Don't let the skill rating fool you! This kid is a great tackler...the best in the team and his pace and passing is great too. Micheal Eissen from Lyon, 84 skill at 22 and Rio Mavuba ( 22 skill 76) from Bordeaux in French ligue 1 and Victor Kompany age 20 skill 76 are some gems. Just bought a 19 Yr old GK called Freidrich from Arsenal....he must have been Lehmanns replacement. I'd like to know about any other bright youngsters I can buy....

Haven't noticed but do old players skill ratings actually get worse the older they get?

Yes but i think only back to their original stats. Example, I have Ballack on my team and he's 33 and he went from 92 to 90(his original stat) really quickly but havent gone down since. But young players start really crappy but becomes better than the original player in about 3-5 years.

the replacements r a good option. but in my career, i can't seem to buy from ac milan and real madrid, coz somehow those teams have ended up having 18 outfield players which the min no. reqd.

so i can't buy nesta's replacement, nor can i buy zidane. its really frustating.
ne way around this???

That's what i hate most. You'll have to wait a few seasons for the teams to buy an extra player.

or you can try and sell one of your unwanted players to AC milan... you have to try about 50 times before they take the bait, but if you have the patience they sometimes make an offer.. it worked for me!
