"Goal!" the movie - a trilogy (three parts)

Goal!

Seeing that it's about an american kid from Los Angeles making it to the big time, I hope the MLS takes part in this. Since its gonna be a trilogy (a la Matrix, LOTR, etc) there plenty of time for character developement, thus have enough time to have this kid at least start his pro career in the MLS (maybe Galaxy?). The options are endless.. but I sure do hope the MLS does take part in this!
Seeing that the kid is from Los Angeles, maybe a mexican-american kid from East Los Angeles? Maybe a Donovan looking kid? Who knows.. but these movies will sure to be great hits (at least I hope so!).
This article was very short and with very little info on when it actually is due to be out. If anybody has more infor please post it... i'm very excited about these movies! :rockman:

Seeing that filming is also being done in Mexico, there's no doubt in my mind that this kid is definately a Mexican-American kid... who probably after making it to the MLS goes to play for a team in Mexico (America or Chivas?) and then probably goes on to Newcastle.

EDIT: Ok, I just finished reading the whoel article... and it confirmed what I was thinking before, the kid is definatley a Chicano (MexicanAmerican) kid from East LA.

EDIT 2: "The second movie in the Goal! trilogy sees him playing in the UEFA Champions League with the world's most glamorous Soccer team, Real Madrid. And in the third movie, he plays in Germany, in the world's biggest sporting event, the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals."

WHOA, he makes it to the FIFA World CUp Final... that means US goes to the FINAL!!!!! NICE!!!! :rockman:

i heard the kid will be Argentinian cos Adidas won the rights to the film. it was between nike and adidas.

IF Nike won it would have been Man Utd to Barcelona then playing for Brazil

as Adidas won it will be Newcastle to Real Madrid then playing for Argentina

That's what I heard too, he can't play for the US b/c they are sponsered by Nike. Can't wait to for this to come out, it will be bigger than the Lord of the Rings, maybe not in the US but the rest of the world it will.

Also, what about that hooligan movie with guy who plays Froto in Lord of the Rings.? When's that coming out?

and who knows if he plays for mexico instead of the US?

edit- looks like he is playing for argentina? that makes it a tad better (only the last film though)

That is exactly why Manchester United sold Beckham, now he is even effecting Raul and Zidane with his fame.



Anyways, isn't it Beckham who signs for Newcastle and not Luna? That's what it says in the article at least.

Don't expect much from it, but we shall see.

An argie living in East Los Angeles? hmm it doesnt make sense but oh well.. I guess seeing that the situation in Argentina is crap, i'm sure the argies are moving everywhere in the US... then again, its only a movie. ;)
