This is not what the author is looking for, but seeing the title of this thread automatically reminded me of this: Ever wanted to make a small gif from any youtube video? Well reddit actually has a bot for it, and you can add it as an add-on to your browser i believe without the need to register, there are tutorials everywhere i believe.
I hope it still works though, i've never used it myself. More information there, maybe someone could actually use it/or find it useful, and with my impeccable memory i thought i'd contribute.
