Longer half-time break?

The German football association (DF has asked FIFA if it can increase the halftime interval in Bundesliga matches to 20 minutes from 15 so clubs can make more money from refreshment and souvenir stalls. "It has nothing to do with the players, but it would help with marketing," a DFB spokesman said on Thursday.


World soccer's ruling body said the 15-minute break was part of the rules of the game and the idea would have to be put to the International Football Association Board (IFA, which next meets in London on February 28.

"Halftime is 15 minutes worldwide, but we will leave it to the discussions next month," a FIFA spokesman said.

German clubs are keen for extra money as many are deeply in debt following the collapse in 2002 of the Kirch media empire, which deprived them of millions of euros in television revenues.

ohhhhh really ??

well that sentence should be enough to conclude that its a sh*t idea.

And Anyway 15 is already too long sometimes... players run the risk of warming down too much if the break was longer.

Get a tv card and record at half-time incase ye miss anything, thats what I do.

I think its a great idea u guys cant tell me that its a bad thing if your team gets more money. I watch american sports like basketball and american football and they hav 2 minute breaks almost every 10 minutes plus halftime so i'm used to it.

ffs if people can't go without food for two hours something's seriously wrong. They should have more port-a-loos at the stadiums and that'd solve the main problem - long lines at the toilets. Eat before going to the match and you'll be fine, trust me.
