5500 is more than good, this game isnt very high demanding, runs fine everything maxed out on my 5200 1024 ram 1.4 amd, runs pretty much the same as on our other comp witch has a 6800. Like a few others said its his computer not his graphics card.

The amount of ram on a graphics board with the same GPU type and clock speed will give you something like 2-3% speed increase on games with MASSIVE amount of textures like doom3 and on maximum texture detail.

The amount of ram on your PC will affect a game when it needs to load stuff from the disc, eg when changing levels or loading a game, but not within the game itself (unless you have less than 256MB where you might have stuttering due to frequent swap file usage)

The speed of ram on your (DDR / SDR) PC affects the overall performance in game no more than 5%.

It's all about the GPU and more importantly the CPU. A game is like every other piece of software. It runs an infinite loop, and asks of the gfx board too display an image on the monitor as fast as it can. On 3D games, the gfx board, besides displaying, has to draw and render stuff increasing the total amount of time needed to display a frame.

So a system with a slow CPU will "choke" any gfx board. Similary a system with the fastest CPU will "choke" on a slow GPU. It's actually better to have a mediocre CPU and a mediocre GPU than an ultra fast GPU on a slow CPU.

The 5500 is not high-end board, but it certainly chokes on that P3. Upgrade your system first. On of my PCs is an Athlon 1700+ / 512 SDR RAM / GF4 Ti4200 and it runs PES4/PES5 @ 100fps and the 5500 is a lot better than the GF4.

I have a GeForce 6800 GT PCI-E 256 MB GDDR3 and PES 5 (demo ; but also the game will probably) works really smooth and really good on high details level (1280*1024 - high) ... my resolution is 1600*1200 - 70 hz on desktop ... I can tell a 256 MB card works good with PES 5 ... guarantied ..

Heh, this is like claiming that any 2000cc car will max out at 300km/hour because your $100,000 sports car does :ewan:

As you guys clearly have no idea what your talking about let me tell you what his problem is - its his prehistoric 1ghz processor.

Its 2005 in case you didnt know and trying to run modern games on a 1ghz processor is quite frankly hilarious. You should also get rid of that below average graphics card and get a 9800pro for 80 quid.

Id love to see FEAR on your system......

FEAR will lag his PC
