Here's a tip.

Always look for the trailing attacker. If you can't get a good shot off, pass it back to him. In most cases the goalie will be out of position leaving you with an open net.

use supercancel to head the ball more accurate: while the ball is in air, make one step back before you press Shoot Button..

ya, one timed shots have hella power. i scored a laser with nedved off a one timer. like 200% harder than a regular shot.

I agree that give and gos work well, even if you don't return the pass it usually creates space cuz the passer will bolt forward.

I use the L1 button a lot when i pass just to create runs, not always for a give and go.

when your running down one of the flanks, switch to the other side since the CPU usually bunch up on one side, giving you a great scoring chance when you switch sides(H)

Adjust your formation until every player is doing what you want him to do. Make sure their stats are appropiate for the position you choose as well. Make sure each of their individual settings are set.

Its all about practice for those........

my personal strategy changes whatever team I use .... but I've found that counter attacks work magnificently; adjust your formation until you have a counterattacking team that can project speed down the wing, and crisp passing from the back and the middle.....works wonders for me and work almost every time

Through ball is king if you like the short passing game. I bet lots of players play like I used to: pass to the man then dribble towards the goal. If you use the through pass to play it into space your man can run on it and have a better chance of getting off a clean shot.

Use the flanks, even if you're more of a short-pass player. Running down the flanks will open up space in the middle. Plus, you're most likely to make the opponent foul you from behind on the flanks--yellow or red card.

A properly timed shot feint in a 1-on-1 situation with the goalie is an almost guaranteed goal. Maybe I just don't have the skills, but I find chipping to be hit or miss.

I keep on meaning to learn how and when to use the dummy and one-two because they're so cool, but so far have been too lazy. Maybe 6-star on WE8:I will force me to learn new skills :D

... or an injured player. If you use a lot of flanks, only use players with an injury tolerance of A. Absolutely useless getting a winger with B or C injury tolerance.

My tip...one-two...one-two...one-two...goal

Actually, once your perfected it, you'll see that one-two are IMO, the best weapon of the game...against n00bs, this is ownage.
