Gameplay lag fixed...finally

The key is to put the resolution to 16 bit not 32 bit which is the default...I've played for hours no stutter, high detail - no change in graphic quality - its beautiful...

Go to the main fifa folder
1. if there is a common.ini file open it (that means you are using fifa explorer or something like that if so
go down to resolution and change it to 16 bit,

2. If there isn't one create one with your notepad - and put the line
RESOLUTION=1024x768x16 and name it COMMON.INI -- be sure to use all caps and don't use the .txt ending - which is the default - just erase it.

Edit:

You will not see the change in the in game menu - my resolution still says 800*600*32 - don't worry - there are ways you can tell its in 16 bit -
there is an extra pause b4 play, it kinda screws up the location of the radar a bit and the kicking bars - I disabled them, also the night sky is not as high of a resolution- minor stuff - but it is enough to tell the changes have been made

PS --Its easier to just create a new INI file than looking around for where the resolution is hidden...

I open up common.ini using UltraEdit-32 and i cant find the Resolution writing.

I searched and theres nothing that says resolution - 32 bit

Because I had fifa explorer there was a common.ini folder already there. It should be a notepad file. - If not just open up a notepad file name it COMMON.INI and write RESOLUTION=1024x768x16 - put it in your main fifa folder

thats it - you could use a higher resolution if you want ...be sure to use all caps when naming the file and don't use .txt which is the default naming system.

Eh... Although that could be quite a fix for gameplay lag, that's simply ridiculous on EA's part. They have been using 16-bit textures since... forever. And this year that they go to 32bit, we have to switch back to 16bit? Gah...

yes its strange, but oh well- it doesn't look different on my lame machine. One more bit of info - be sure to try different resolutions if one doesn't work- for example - my machine works best at 1024*768 nothing higher...just cause its 16 bit doesn't mean you can neccessarily go higher if you couldn't with 32 bit - although some may be able to bump it up...

I opened up the "sku.ini" file and that had the resolution and i changed it to 1024x768x16 and than when i go back into the game and the settings if comes up as "1024x768x32"

Anyone know why and how to fix it?

The only problem with this "work around" is that It makes cutscenes extremely blurry if DISABLE_DOF and DISABLE_POSTFX are set to 0.

can anyone post a before and after screen of some close ups on a high end pc?

I am getting little to no slowdown at 1280X1024 on high without this. Just curious to the kit quality and if you can notice the difference.
