here are the new gameplay improvements, I would normally say I'm really looking forward to the imptovements, but I say that every year and come out half disappointed when the game comes out. They did recognize that they screwed up in FIFA 2005, with the gaps between defense, midfield, and forwards.
Check out the new gameplay features in UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE™ 2004 – 2005. They are as follows:
FORMATIONS
- Closing of midfield gap
- Team-mates provide more support via runs and movement
- Intelligent player logic to avoid getting caught offside close to the goal and in unrealistic situations
- Defenders will try to play further up the field (also helping to reduce midfield gap)
- More automatic player runs
- Additional players in the penalty area for crosses
- More variety in player position for attackers (formation offset)
DRIBBLING RESPONSIVENESS
- Sharper/cleaner turns at jog speeds
- More responsive 90 degree turns
- Improved control at sprint speeds.
CROSSING
- More crossing assistance
- Ability to cut the ball back to the edge of the penalty area when crossing from the by-line.
- Variable targeting and trajectories on crosses.
- More players in the penalty area on crosses
- Double tap low crosses have more variety in height, pace and trajectory
GOALKEEPERS
- The keeper has better control over deflections
- Improved keeper charge decision making
- More variety in keeper save animations
CPU TACTICS
A lot of work has gone into the tactics that the CPU teams employ in the 2nd half of a match in UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TM 2004 - 2005. - Substitutions
- End of Match if winning
- End of Match if losing
SET PIECES
The set piece system for UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE™ 2004 – 2005 delivers the following:
- Fast and intuitive functionality
- Call a corner kick set play
- Control the delivery (location and power) of the set piece
- A short set piece option at all times
- Realistic Ball Physics
- Re-use of the shot meter functionality (press and release)
RULES AND REGULATIONS
All new rules and regulations have been added to UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE™ 2004 – 2005. They are as follows:
BAD REFEREE DECISIONS
The potential for bad referee decisions has been added. This feature adds unpredictability and drama to a match, which therefore adds more excitement for the player. Additionally it adds character to the referees as they are now susceptible to “human” mistakes.
HANDBALL
The referee now has the ability to call a handball.
- A replay and commentary will be triggered to support this.
ADVANTAGE
- The referee will call an advantage if the fouled team has an attacking advantage.
- An advantage icon will appear in the top right hand corner of the screen if an advantage is played.
- If after a few seconds, it is deemed that the team does not have a sufficient attacking advantage, the foul will be called and a free kick will be awarded.
- Commentary will be triggered to support this.
INJURY TIME
The referee will now indicate the amount of injury time to be played at the end of a half.
- The injury time will appear as an icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.
- The referee can call 1, 2, 3 and 4 minute injury time.
- Commentary will be triggered to support this.
