No! I own a Saitek P2500 gamepad, and the analogue sticks are much much too loose; and therefore not very precise.
I also own a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual 3 'pad, and a Logitech Dual Action 'pad. The Thrustmaster is great, but I prefer the Logitech as it is more compact, and easier to hold. The button placement is much better too.

I've had my Logitech 'pad for about three weeks now, and have suffered no problems with it. It's the best gamepad I've owned (for the PC). The analogue sticks are really precise...

/Edit/

The Saitek controller software is extremely bug-ridden, it isn't fully XP-compatible. I kept getting 'stop errors'/rebooting issues, after I changed to a Canterwood motherboard. I'm computer-literate, I know how to clean registries before reinstalling software etc. My computer hasn't rebooted once (through error) since I unpluged that Saitek 'pad. I now have:- a Sidewinder; Thrustmaster; and a Logitech- all connected to the USB ports. No issues whatsoever. The Saitek is cheap and nasty (looks/feels) compared to the Logitech and the Thrustmaster.

Buy the Logitech Dual Action gamepad! I've always used the Gravis Gamepad Pro up until this year's games (FIFA, Madden, NHL) and the Dual Action has been great and very comfortable.

Plus, it shouldn't cost you more than $25USD.

The Logitech Dual Action Rocks:rockman:

Do not buy a gamepad just to play this game!! EA have ****ed up badly.... so why should you have to buy a special pad just for this? Forget FIFA and get Pro Evo 3. Even their demo version pisses all over FIFA final game.

I have exactly the same problem with the sidewinder gamepad not usb (MIDI/Gameport). My PC is an athlon 1.0 ghz, geforce 3, VIA Chipset, Soyo Motherboard, in WINXP with SP1... and i'm frustrated.... :f***: :(
