Hello i am just wondering peoples opinions on these two players.
I can never understand how Neville and A.Cole get selected for England.

9 out of 10 times Neville will pass the ball backwards and not attack which leaves the other team a great chance to intercept the ball and goal.
A.Cole is a little the same but he can run fast down the side of the pitch. He gives away too many free kicks. I can see him getting sent off sooner rather than later.

Bridge for Neville.
&
Carragher for Cole.

Also Lamps and Gerrard need to deside who is going to be the attacking one.
If these two can't gell then I can't see England doing much after the leauge stage.

Well i dont understand your swaps. Bridge is a left back and if anything you would swap him with Cole. same with Carragher and Neville.

I thought thats the one thing we did well. Gerrard was one of our best players, he was very composed and stayed back for the team. I admire him as he is a great team player.

Anyway, gary neville is one of the best crossers of the ball in world football, and if you havnt seen that you just dont watch enough football. And cole, he is fantastic to. You know nothing!

Yeah i'm still learning the sport. But i've followed the game long enough to know some things. So I don't know nothing! I see my swaps are wrong though, but i still stick by my opinion of Neville and Cole. All i've ever seen Neville do for England is stuff up.
Cole is great when he runs with the ball but can't defend at this level.
Maybe he should just focus on being an attacking player for England and leave the defending for Arsenal?

Anyway guys i'm on Englands side. Please don't be rude.

Gary neville i don't rate too highly, but he is a very good crosser of the ball. While Ashley Cole is very offensive yes, but he does make some very crucial tackles, he is also a pretty decent passer of the ball and he is a very good attacking threat overlapping down the left. And he has Terry and Ferdinand for cover anyway so he would probably be instructed to attacka bit more.

Gary Neville has the experiance.

Cole is faster than anyone else in the England squad, unlimited stamina and is good defensively.

Wayne Bridge.. has nothing going for him. He's older, slower and weaker defensively than Ashley.

Thats extremely harsh on Wayne Bridge, Dreath. He is very similar to Neville in that he is solid all around and can chip in offensively when needed. And 26 isnt exactly old, even in comparison to a 24 year old

And I would say he is just as good defensively as Ashley and more positionally responsible

In any event, Neville and Cole are as permanent as one is going to find in the England side. The defender most in danger of losing his place, in my opinion, is Rio (generally speaking, not after the last match)

Carragher has more fighting capabilities than both of them together, but he is not a good dribbler and is slower than Cole

not seen much of gary play then, since hes famed for his attacking link up play with becks and was one of man utds best attacking crossers of last season.

plus i know everyone rags on him cos he plays for utd but i mean he was voted the best rightback for england by england players past and present and if that isnt praise i dont know what is.

i think he really just gets stick cos hes utd through and through and isnt afraid to show it., plus its a well known fact that behind the scenes and on the pitch gary is the voice of the England team and frankly should be cap ahead of becks but thats never gonna happen cos he aint popular enough.

If you think Gaz has never delivered for England, then you aint watched many England games. At the moment he is not 100% fit,(at this time, he has just gone to hospital for x rays on his thigh, he is gonna miss the T&T game) and has been playing safe. Thats why he has made many back passes in the Paraquay game. Normally he would be chugging up the wing taking people on and delivering sublime crosses. We missed a fully fit Gaz a lot in the Paraguay game.

As for Ashley.....the best left back in England, without a doubt. Followed very very closely by Wayne Bridge. In fact they are so close its hard to call, but I would probably just give it to Cole.

lol, you can't be serious Ian, can you? Cole is miles better than Bridge and Gary can't even be compared to Carragher. Carragher is not even a right back, he is a center back and with Rio playing in his position, there is no chance that he will play, because Rio is not losing his place anytime soon. I'm not trying to sound mean or something, but how many games did you actually watch Gary Neville play in? He is always up and down that field, ALWAYS giving support to Beckham and when he plays there is never space on the right side for the opposing team to attack. The most consistent player EPL ever had and the currently most consistent England NT player and you want to kick him out? I suggest next time you watch the game more closely ;)

Well Neville pulled out of training this afternoon. ITV are reporting he wont play tomorrow.

It has to be a straight swap with Carragher in my opinion.

firstly, get that name out of your display name. you cannot have anything close to my name while having such stupid remarks.
secondly, ashley cole is a great defender and a great attacker. he tracks back ever so well and when he is 100% fit is by far superior to any left back in the world. the last england game he wasnt 100%, hopefully he can get there next game though.
next, gary neville may look to all of us that he doesnt do Carlos and he sux, but he is soooo important to the team. hes a leader and vocally helps others out while doing the dirty work also.

and to someone who said rio's place is in danger: who can it be in danger to? there is noone close to him except ledley king who is out anyway. but, when rio is put up with pressure he is rock solid. fast, strong, quick, can keep up with any striker, and can head the ball well.

i feel the biggest place in danger is owen. when rooney is back, how can we take out crouch? crouch is vital to the team just like beckham. our offense is beckham>crouch>another player to score. i dont feel owen has what it takes anymore.
