Not as laughable as someone who thinks Schumacher is better than a driver who overlapped an entire field except the second placed car, and was close to doing so. Donnington 93' come to mind? Did it ever cross your mind that Schumacher has no rivalry? Except for the fact that Ferrari is rivaled with McLaren, Schumacher has no true rivals. Every great champion has had some sort of rival. Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Stewart, etc.

Schumacher has had nothing near that.

Schumacher doesn't deserve to be considered as a great because he never beat a great to win the championship, simple as that. Schumacher may as well be winning Mickey Mouse trophies because they mean the same thing to fans who know the sport.

Sorry but it is. You clearly forget the rivalry he had with Damon Hill and Jaques Villeneuve. If I remember righly he won the title by 1 point in 1994. Like the saying goes you can only beat what's put in front of you , and his record speaks for itself. Someone with that record has to be considered as one of the greats, it's common sense regardless of the competition. I can't be bothered to debate about this anymore, you have a very strange point of view and that's all there is to it.

Yes he had a REAL rivalry with Damon Hill alright, in fact I remember it lasting 2 whole races at the end of the seasons. :rolleyes: And he was never a rival with Villeneuve, that's a ridiculous claim. Schumacher never beat a great, Villeneuve wasn't great, and Damon Hill was the David Beckham of racing. :)

Yeh and the difference is Hill has a world title and Beckham has a European Cup, aswell as other honours so not a bad career ey. Like I have said regardless of "beating greats", Schumacher's record is outstanding, and on that basis alone, he deserves to be known as one of the best, if not THE best of all time. He will probably end up having 100+ career wins, over 80 poles, 10 world titles, and then I bet you will still say he doesn't have the right to be considered as a great. Yes the Senna Vs Mansell Vs Prost days were awesome, and they are "greats" in there own way, Schumacher is a great for a different reason.
