2nd highest for the stadium. (Boise State def. Ohio state in the Fiesta Bowl was higher)

btw now that you talk about that boise state game , that was the greatest american football game i ever seen seriously, either college or nfl, the plays that boise did that night were crazy.

Raises the question again, how did Mexico get seeded in the World Cup? As Donovan himself said, they suck. Couldn't score in a brothel, even with our second-string back line.

still sanchez shoulndt had done that, thats what a bitch would do really; if something i hate more than a losser , its a sore losser :jambo:

I have not seen a single USA vs. Mexico game in the last 6 years that did not have a Mexican player going for a cheap shot. And despite all of that, the Americans continue to show class. And win.

ha ha thats true. if you turned on espn this morning in 45mins they haven't said anything about the game. america doesn't care about soccer  . this is probably a home game where you try to take the crowd (mexican fans) out of it. :nape: thats pretty sad

Oh come on it's near the border. If the game was in Columbus or Boston there wouldn't be any Mexicans.

Their idea of defence is pretty much just a series of cheap shots. Sadly CONCACAF referees are a joke so they usually get away with it.

Sanchez the GK is hilarious:rofl: Hugo Sanchez is a pig. He's not gonna last. He runs his mouth more than he actually gets things done. Mexicans never show class. They always have to kick, headbutt, or elbow somebody and then run just like Borgetti ran like a Mexicant when Pizarro was chasing after him to kick his ass. (H) That was hilarious!

Well, good showing for the USA. We beat an inform (at least in better form) Mexican side. Being that the MLS season is over, most of our players weren't fully in match fitness and it showed occasionally. Great goal by Donovan to renew his confidence, which is what he needed. With the European based players away, it was a very positive start for this new USA football era. With Damascus Beastly and Gooch & others in there, I think we have avery good future....but, I really think we need a foreign coach with lots of top notch experience...someone like a Gus Hiddink.

By the way, much respect to the Mexican & USA teams and fans for turning this "friendly" into a meaningful game. They both put on a great show, playing hungry football.

LANDOWNED!!!! lol (H)

Great game by Landon, I actually screamed the 2nd goal.
I think it's obvious who the real power in Concacaf is now.

Yeah that was really controvercial (especially since USA won the Gold cup and defeated them for 1st place in Concacaf last time).

But after the last WC (marginally beating the mediocre Iran, getting killed by Portugal and tying the incredibly week Angola, then losing to Argentina), it wont happen again (Canada has a better chance of getting seeded)

PS- I heard the ref who gave Landon the pass was Canadian. Anyone know about that?

Great game and performance by the U.S :clapwap:. I was also celebrating after that goal by Donovan, although I lack respect for him. Mexico played well, I'll give them that. What was sanchez thinking trying to take out Johnson after that goal??

Any of you guys see when the spanish network tried to interview Donovan after the match and he just blew them off. What a show of class by him :nape:.

This is becoming more and more of a true and great rivalry :rockman:

The ref is Canadian but he didn't actually 'pass' it to Donovan, the ball hit him and came to Clark (i think it was him) who then made the pass to Landon.

Yep. Secondary assist for Navarro.

I have one request for Bob Bradley though. Next time Nowak tries to bring along his DC United protégés (Namoff, Gros, Carroll), tell him to f**k off. OK, calling up one of those guys is acceptable. But all three? And two of them got to play in this game? Gros is a poor man's Albright. Namoff is alright in 3-5-2 but I don't think he fits anywhere on the backline in a 4-4-2, not at the international level. Carroll is the best of the three, he could be useful as a back-up defensive midfielder, but we have so many players who can play that role - Feilhaber, Bradley, Beckerman.

Good thing I drank and did all that fun stuff. I knew today would be much different though, not mad, at all. I'm just at awe of how many players Hugo decided to use for this game...it's a 'friendly' but why take out 3 players after the first half. The media will get on him for that.

Yeah, yeah Oswaldo shouldn't be doing that type of sh!t so there is no excuse for his act.

But Johnson trying to chest bump Rafa, that was...huh? He tried to pick on the captain, c'on Eddie you know better than that.

Strange 2nd half, but very entertaining. We blew chance after chance after US had taken the 1-goal lead and the second goal is just a result of our aggresive futbol.

Good game, US fans, the "real US fans" not those who post on this thread so they can say how much Mexico sucks or how dirty we play.

Viva la rivalidad. (Y)

You know boise state beat oklahoma, not ohio state in the fiesta bowl. For such a great game you'd think everyone would know this. Almost like that 99 champs league final where club brugge came back in extra time to beat bayern munich..... :jambo: :jambo: :jambo: (H)
