Poland vs Germany

vs

Ground: One of the EURO 2012 venues PGE ARENA Gdańsk

I know there are 3 days to the kick off but I really can't wait to see both teams in action. It's probably the most important game for Poland since EURO 2008 and we just can't **** this opportunity, we must play the best we can. My only dream is to defeat Germany, just once in my life. I would like to see that happens at huge tournament such as EURO 2012.

As for the game itself, I just hope we won't defend all the time becasue Germany will smash us up. We play at home so the crowd should help us out. No matter what, games against Germany are always something special in Poland and anyone would give anything just to see them losing against our team. I really believe it's gonna happen someday.

I think there are more than a few Germany fans who would let you have Poldi back. Would be kind of cool if Jogi Low dropped him and he did his one time association switch and then started representing Poland. Would that be possible?

That's impossible. I wouldn't like to see that happen though. In the other news; Neuer, Schweinsteiger and Özil are gone and won't play on Tuesday. Good for us because Özil is on fire lately and probably he wouldn't mind of scoring the same number of goals against Poland.

Bad for you becuase there would be a young hungry player called Gotze who wants to prove himself badly.

Podolski's not exactly Radzinski... Besides i thought that rule only applies for changing from one's U21 side - once a player has been capped at the senior NT he can't change.

I also hope to see Poland beat Germany once in my life too. :(

They actually can, Thiago Motta played for both Brazil and Italy. There are additional rules:

FIFA granted players to have one chance to change their representing nation if they had dual nationality, but not for players who have already played in a competitive "A" match (non-friendly).

FIFA Statutes stipulate that the player needs to have held a other nation passport at the time when he represented the other national team at the senior level and in addition he would have required five years of education in that country before turning 18.

So Podolski can't change anyway since he's played at 2 WCs and 2 Euros for Germany.

BTW, Baltic Arena was a much cooler name for the stadium than PGE Gdansk Arena. :S

It was obvious even without checking FIFA rules.

Yeah, money can ruin everything. Apart from the name it's still a breathtaking stadium.:-)

BTW, i saw the photos on stadiony.net, all our stadiums are finished, but for Ukraine? Essentially only the two refurbished stadiums from the eastern mining areas of Ukraine are finished. Lviv is only somewhere around 50% and Kyiv isn't finished either....

Apparently, if their two stadiums won't be ready the % of games might be shifted to have more games in Poland?

Don't get too excited.

Ukraine may not be ready with roads, facilities and other things that are needed to be done before the EURO but they will finish the stadiums on time, that's for sure. Stadiums are the most essential for UEFA, it's a guarantee of having EURO.

Yeah, great game for him so far. Shocking finishing from Klose though.

Mertesacker is kind of looking foolish; every dangerous attack comes from his side.

Yet again the Polish goalkeeping issue is solved for years. If I were Smuda I'd never let Peszko play again for the national team. Can't wait for the second half.

Głowacki- the worst "player" who has ever stepped onto the football pitch. Smuda is a freaking moron, he replaced Perquis instead of Głowacki who had already a yellow card and had played terrible. Peszko, wasted 3 clear chances to score, pathetic.

On the opposite side was Szczęsny- a world class goalkeeper. Also, a fantastic performance of Lewandowski. We can always count on them. Murawski did his job either. I can't say the same about the others, especially about Wawrzyniak who ruined the match in the last second.

I can say it officially - we will never defeat Germany. We will never be closer to beat them than tonight. I won't die as a happy man.

Yeah, it's amazing to me that Szczesny wasn't in goal for Arsenal a year ago because he is class personified.

And wait a minute... Germany got an equalizer!?!? I turned it off after the Blaz... penalty!!

Cacau got the equalizer after Muller was able to get a last second cutback into the box. :(
