Found Fix for Sidewinder shift key... IT WORKS!!

For those of you out there that are frustrated about not being able to bend free kicks and do all of the other "shift key" stunts with your game pad. I found a fix that actually works (full credit to TjC on another post).

Here it goes:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. download JoyToKey (CLIK HERE)
2. Extract the program to desired folder
3. Define the keys
4. Leave JoyToKey running
5. Launch Fifa2004
6. Play

Configuring your gamepad (according to TjC's original post)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Open JoytoKey
2. press "Auto Setting Wizard"
3. Press the keys on your keyboard
4. Do it as you would normaly play in fifa as keyboard only that
this little program makes fifa thinks you are playing on a
keyboard but u are actually playing on you gamepad

Set Keys as follows:

left Arrow-Left off
right Arrow-right off
up Arrow-up off
down Arrow-down off

button 1 A off
button 2 S off
button 3 D off
button 4 Q off
button 5 W off
button 6 shift off
button 7 Q off
button 8 E off
button 9 Esc off
button 10 Y off
button 11 C off
button 12 Z off

That's It... Play the game using the keyboard under side select
and your pad will think it's the keyboard. It's supposed to work
on most game controlers. I know for sure it works on Sidewinder
gampad and gamepad pro usb.

thanx ..i needed that...will try it soon...but i have microsoft sidewinder...only 8 buttons...need the other buttons as well....any way to assign the thrust button which is in that if u understand !! thanx

how you lot actually using ya sidewinder mine works then stops and dissapears !!!!!

In your case buttons 1-8 can be conifgured.
Look at the book and figure out which key is assigned to what function on your keyboard and assign that key to one of your game pad buttons.

for example:
I wanted to make my "Z" button (button#6) function as the shift key so I assigned SHIFT to button # 6.

It's pretty simple.

One thing I don't like about this little fix is that my directional buttons don't work smothly like they used to. I've tried tweaking it but no dice!
