Former FIFA addict finally plays PES3 and touches the face of God...

Just got Pro Evolution Soccer 4 from Konami for PC. After playing the EA Fifa franchise for some four years, all I can say is:
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!
I can't believe how well this game is put together. Ok, there are some minor graphic flaws (pitch) but they playing, the movement of the players, the handling of the ball, players reactions on the pitch....wow. I've never seen a computer game (let alone soccer) that comes with a manual that is 64!! pages thick! 64!! WTF? The tactical options are endless! You can change EVERYTHiNG! Players, kits, logo's, flags, name it... I never played a soccer game before that felt so natural, so life-like, so REAL!
Plus, it cost me about 15 euro's less than Fifa/Euro whatever.
Now I understand what everyone was always talking about. And no, I'm not 21, or 15. I'm 39 years old. My love for soccer has just grown bigger....

Yeah i have been a Fifa fan, even up to 2005, one night i decided to test out the PES 4 demo on filefront. I got the demo expander and started to play. I found myself amazed at the animations, the goals, the everything in the game. Fifa may have the licenses, but if you dont have the gameplay its ****. PES 4/WE8 rocks, i will never again go to Fifa 2005 unless i am really out of my mind or if my comp. is not working. Well i used to be mad at Fifa haters, but now since i have played Pes 4 i understand and i am right along with you. KONAMI ROCKS

Let me say that having tried FIFA 2005 for about three hours after close at an HMV near here for which a good friend is manager, I can take the post that leads this thread, and apply it to PES4, and the continuing FIFA franchise.

Great thread, I can't believe I read all of your first post Mel (soooo long) but it was a rivetting read. EA are just typical US cynacists, trying to make as much money out of something as cheap to make as possible...

This thread is so much like me, only that put in a shinier light.......I have your feelings exaxctly, a man madly in love with FIFA because of a default rather than a choice and now a man reborn in his love of football simulations since WE 6 came to the US....simply wonderful stuff from Konami.........like the WE 8 box says....experience real football for real football fans.........key word being REAL football fans

I'm afraid buddy, that REAL football fans would feel naturally at conflict with a game like EA sport's. At some point of your playing experience you HAVE to wonder how the hell EA can sit there and call FIFA the best football SIMULATION in the market with the kind of stuff they put on the table gameplay wise......
I mean, think about the kind of crap we as consumers let EA get away with, in 2003 they didnt even include a day or night option i mean that is one of the basic premises of most any sports games; in another year you couldnt HEAD THE BALL!!!!! for God's sake that is one of the centerpices of football.....I tell you, its a shame they still make money off of that heap of sh*t they put out every year

I couldn't believe when they left heading out lmao, and they made it so you just run down the wing, make the player in the middle run, tap square and then your strike would put it in automatically! haha! I could score the same goal from about 30 yards every single time and after playin FIFA 05 I've realised it's no different in that respect. It's sooo scripted!
And if you want me to tell you what scripted means... If you shoot from the same place with the same power each time, it will go in each time, that's what happens in FIFA
In PES if you've scored from one place they'll try not to let you get into that position so it's unlikely you'll get a shot off let alone score.
