Argentinians play tough. Is this similar to their lifestyles? things like poverty, economic recession etc all play some part i feel that u can see on the pitch. U do anythin to survive in harsh climates (eg stealing when u r poor) so they reflect this on the pitch by doin anything to win! (hand of god for one )

Fair point mate. I dont know much more about South America or its teams. Argentina, Brazil, Columbia and Uruguay are the only ones i know a decent amount about.

Well, all these countries have experienced economic problems as well as some others: Venezuela, Chile (at one point), Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru..etc etc...I think in Argentina football is not played tough because we are all trying to survive, it is played tough because we like to win always. Our football has a lot of passion...
