There's a high chance that not much new change happens when it goes through.
Hopefully they'll have good hidden attributes.

Chairmen have a few influential attributes:
Business - how good he is at getting you a higher balance
Interference - how likely he is to buy a player for you (this doesn't happen much now-a-days)
Patience - how much time he's willing to give you if you're sucking
Resources - how much of his money he can put in

Well, I expected more, but we'll see next transfer window.

What do you guys do condition-wise? That is, what's your limit % of condition to not field a player? Because I have a short squad at Milan, and I've found myself pushing what I thought was my limit, which was like 92-93%, down to like 85%...

In the 90s usually for a starter, 85+ on the bench.

When on the park, I don't like guys dropping much below 70.

But it does depend a bit on who else is available, and how key the player is

This is a bit of a ridiculous question, but how are you guys handling the game this year? What kind of tactics are working for you? I'm having a little more success with a packed midfield (diamond or 4-3-1-2) because the strikers aren't as useless when they can work together and the fullbacks naturally seem to go so far up the fucking pitch anyway.

Are you focusing on training? Match training? Just picking generic tactics and seeing how it works? My biggest problem is that my teams don't score, I think my entire feeling about how shitty this game is would change if I could score goals. The defenses I've had have been serviceable for a team that can score goals.

I played 4-2-3-1 with Milan, with the three being central instead of two wingers and an AMC. Now at United I play a 4-4-1-1. Both seasons at Milan and up until now with United I've been getting more goals from the midfielders than from the striker (although van Persie has been injured for months now).

I leave match training for the AssMan, and general training I set at Team Cohesion - High, the entire season. This year I've been getting more goals than the previous, but I have a better team. And Gareth Bale.

How do you score most of your goals? Through balls, crosses, solo runs, screamers? Crosses seem to be the easiest way by far to me. A winger beating his man around the outside and dribbling in on goal happens way waaaay more in this game than real life.

Never screamers, I have the whole team with "Rarely" long shots. I get like one, maaybe two screamers per season. With United it's mostly wing runs then a cross. I also get through balls from the middle with Rooney and Vidal serving Welbeck, but most times it's Bale and Nani/Valencia tearing it up through the wing, then either crossing it or getting in the area. That's why most of the times it's them scoring, or Rooney (short back pass when they get inside the area).

Btw this should be the "FM Screenshot and Discussion Thread"

edit:

last 25 matches

Those 11 in the center I'd say are like 99% from one of those winger-gets-into-area plays.

Yeah, that looks about what I'm noticing too. So traditional wingers with very high dribble and flair looks to be the best investment you can buy along with a tall striker. Everything else can just be put into stable CMs that break up play and pass to the wingers.

EDIT: Here's mine from the diamond. I only went back 20 games as that is when I switched. As you say, the inside the box assists are mostly from an outside man getting around the edge and dribbling in. With only fullbacks out wide, they still assist at least half of my goals. That is fucking stupid.

Gomez was amazing for me at Bayern too. The inverted wingers were crap though.

E: Alright, so I'm going to start scouting around for a team where I can implement this from the beginning. Must have 2/3 of "correct" sided wingers and tall striker plus money to buy the other one if it doesn't have all 3. Tottenham is the one that I'm thinking of though, but maybe I can find a club in a lesser league. I think for the major leagues I have the most fun in Germany or Italy because there isn't as much competition.

Nice, this is the type of shit I like to try.

The two best teams are Sevilla and Schalke. Bayern and Man U work too, but their wingers have that pesky "cuts inside" PPM.
