How ya doing Tom? Sorry for the warez talk, me and my big mouth. Anyway, i'm still topping the table after 10-13 games or so (cant remember..), being trailed by Everton, Arsenal and Newcastle, not respectively. My problem lately is scoring goals, even though i'm keeping a good average of around 2-3 goals per game. On the last games i've played, seems like my strikers have lost their touch (or my striker, aka Cissé).
Too many shots wide, too many one on ones missed, and even though he, Cissé, still has a good record, he's screwing up lately. My best option at the moment is Mellor. He's looking good, having scored 3 in his last 3 matches. I'm doing ok at the CL, topping the group, against Leverkusen, PSG and Celtic.

Hmm, funny, they're pish in my game. I'm still topping the table, after 26 games, even though the performances are getting sloppy. I went 3 games without winning before beating Tottenham (the problem is i lost to Fulham, and drew Portsmouth and Charlton at home...). Strikers couldnt hit a barn door anyway, dear god why do they miss so many chances?
Now i'm wondering, what is best to do when you feel your tactic is getting cracked on this game? I dont exactly have a plan B.
I'm too used to CM 03/04, where i used my killer tactic for every team and i went on to win titles with every single one of them. I'm leading the table, but i'm being lucky that Arsenal arent capitalizing on my screw-ups. My last 3 games of the season are Chelsea, Arsenal and Norwich, 2 away and one at home (this one being Arsenal).
So help me to maintain the 1st place. What should i do? Come up with a new tactic or just tinker around with the one i'm using at the moment (by tinker i mean changing individual instructions and one position or 2 at most). And also, as i'm kind of a newbie to FM itself, what tactic usually works for you people? I'm using a 4-1-2-2-1 (GK, DR, DL, DC, DC, DMC, MC, MC, AMR, AML, ST), and it worked wonders for the whole season, but at the moment the team is looking sloppy. I won my last match, against Tottenham, 4-2, but i had 12 shots and they had 8. I usually have 20+ and they have less than 5 (even against Chelsea it was like that).

i find mixing two formations together as a home/away system is rarely "cracked" by the computer, simply think of a more defensive one for away and the normal home tactic should start doing better.
Personally i recommend using a 532 if you have a few good DC's, never let me down away from home.

well since CM0304 as my defensive tactic i use it with 5 flat defence, but with my LB/RB running forward one movement, seems to give me just enough going forward to cause problems on the counter.
If you've got 3 good DC's you're sorted with that tactic in my opinion.
