First time some club make this to me.

I was supossed to buy this Norwegian guy (I was searching for a cheap striker to replace my Main Striker, Toedtli, because this greedy bastard does not know the difference between Ejido and Chelsea, asking the club a +20k weekly wage and 620k for signing on fee...) cause it was free, good, low-wage and will arrive at the start of the next season, but...

WTF!!!

2/3 of my transfer budget gone on a Transfer that was supposed to be free, plus my wage budget does not support more players (well, that from the start <.<)

So... what the hell? Is this new or what? I'm playing since CM4 (02/03) and this never happened to me before

I'm guessing that they had some sort of Compensation fee which you failed to notice... I almost did that myself, but noticed when going through my upcoming transfers so I guess I was lucky.

either that or his contract is not running out yet, just unprotected (most probably that his contract runs out in the close season in Norway, should be around Dec, so if u thought his contract runs out in June/July, then you are only signing a player who's unprotected, not a pre-contract for a free agent)
