Hello everyone i am new to the forum and i would just like to say hello to everybody on here.

I have a problem though i am doing everything right on trying to connect with a friend online but each time me or him type in the i.p address it says unable to connect to server?

Any help would be very greatful

make sure that the ip you've used is from http://www.whatismyip.com/ as sometimes fm generates the wrong ip, especially when using a router. If you are using a router, make sure that the incoming connection is not blocked. i aint sure how to do that as its specific to each router. Also check if the firewall is blocking the connection.

Welcome to the forum :)

What shtotty said is entirely true. If the host is using a router, incoming traffic will be always be blocked by its firewall, unless told not to. The ports you need to open up are 10093 and 10094, or accept internet traffic from fm.exe.

Check the second topic in the first post of our FAQ here for some pointers if needed.

It's impossible to play online. I've tried dozens of times, and it has never worked. Done so much crap to make it work too. Giving up. :boohoo:

A router. Ruud helped me some, but all those PMs made me crazy, so I gave up. :p


I have thought that when I get time to it, I will ask someone here to start an online game with me, not play, but just get me started for once. But that's when I get time.
