Looks good and commentary sounds good. I'm looking forward to see how it plays and hope Fifa improvement continues.

Lock? Why the Heck?
How on earth is this a missplaced thread?

Most of all (those that don't visit Fifa's threads) won't even give a shot at Fifa's demos cos we already predict what's coming but a gameplay video can give u a glimpse of the general state of football simulations and that can't be bad.

And afterall this forum is about football simulations, and therefore I believe most of it's users like football, and like to know how every football simulation is. Got it?

And besides, it can't be bad not to have to visit those forums(C)

Peace

Edit: Saw the videos. Shallow, arcadish, unrealistic gameplay...The same boring game Fifa has been since 99.

The game "looks" great. Sounds amazing.
Plays... terrible.

As long as EA is "scripting" its way out of ever gameplay problem, it will never change.

In PES, each game is a different one, and I get chances that never happened b4, and score goals that aren't even possible on Fifa.
You can't possibly buy a soccer game, where the worst thing in it are its goals. Terrible.

I wish PES/WE looked or sounded like it, though.

Lets co-operate & decide which 2 people we want 2 commentate on PES

Hu wud we all like 2 commentate 4 PES in the future, even tho we want it now! From the gameplay vids i'v seen 4 PES6, the commentary sounds exactly the same tone, exactly the same reactions and phrases as PES5 - and worst of all - STILL TREV & PETER! But one thing i'v realised from my few times of playing PES5 on PSP is tht commentary is soooo much better than no commentary.
Anyways, if i could have my way, i'd have a champions league mode instead of master league, or have master league but in league mdoe 4 whichever country league include the however many teams hu qualify 4 champions league based on the league position, get 2 play in the champions league in the season(s) if you select have cup in league as well. For this i'd have andy gray and martin tyler, or itv champions league commentators. I'm not bothered bout other cups, but shud have other commentators 4 friendlies and other modes. Tho i can imagine this wud take a lot of detail and work.

FIFA World Cup 2002 (PS2) is the best FIFA ever to be released! It was the one where you could do keep-ups in-game and curl your shots manually using L2 and R2. It also had what formerly were the 'trademark' FIFA goalkeeper dives, which were ever so acrobatic and, quite frankly wicked. Since then, FIFA has gone down the sh*tter and got worse with each and every release.

Enter Pro Evolution Soccer. :clapwap:

You have to love the ignorance some people can write.

FIFA is the same game each year.
Yeah, because PES is radically different each year

I take that back, PES5 was different than PES3 and PES4.

In PES5..............
The computer cheats like no other. The game became heavily scripted(that thing PES fanboys like to bash FIFA for). Your players have a problem of not responding to your input from the controller in many situations. Shooting is an utter disgrace as most of the time when you just tap the button the power bar goes right to full or almost full and the ball will fly in the air and out of the stadium.................Or, you can make most shots from outside the box but once in the box, that same player shoots like a five year old kid. The Keepers are either stupid and just stand there or they make super unrealistic saves, there is not inbetween. They also don't throw the ball when you want them to, but thats back to the problem of players not responding to your controller input. Every other time you want to just turn your player.............they sidestep instead. The through-lob is utterly broken, as in it works 1 out of 20 times, all other 19 or so times it will just end up in the keepers hands. FK's are insanely easy. The refs have no clue what is and isnt a foul. Players who played the game all the time like me, have figured out an exploit that allows you to foul like no other and always get away with it. Experienced players can be running up to the opponent and run the guy over for all the ref cares due to said exploit. But if you don't use said exploit, it will be a foul for what seems like you were just running next to them.....................talk about scripting.

Aside from these things some people would call improvements(I call them annoyances), PES5 is identical to PES4.

EA releases a different Fifa game every year. Crappy? yes. But Different.

Konami, on the other hand, releases a modified version of the same game, every year. Why? Mostly because they only work on one console, and port to the rest. I didn't think Konami was that low budget a company.

Saving "the big change" for next-gen I suppose. And by next-gen I mean the game that comes next summer....
Looking forward to the 360 version this month, though.

yeah I prefer PES more than FIFA anyday but I agree with 90% of what deftonesmx17 said.
But I think the reason PES dont change the game so much each year is because they have the right formula, it just needs tweeking here and each year till it makes the game perfect in my opinion (then they just need to get fully lisenced).

We'll see. NOthing made me feel like I was playing - winning and losing and struggling and celebrating - football like PES3; PES 4 and PES5 have built upon that initial, epiphanic experience.

If FIFA does that with 07 on my Xbox 360, it will have done its job; if it doesn't, it will have fallen short.

Simple.

The ball physics look like they have improved, the tackling looks kindda real. But FIFA have always said to be more realaistic and each year its the same "Arcade Feeling Crap". I mean I borrowed FIFA World cup from my friend and its the same S@#%, I be winning games like 8-0 easy in 6 min halves. Thats rubbish!!
But I don't know, It looks nice though and it has gotten good ratings from some top football pros. This and LMA is the reason why i'm getting an XBOX 360 anyway (until PES 2007) so I'll see.

Konami are busy working on Solid Snakes espionage skills instead of PES Improvements. There not a low budget company. But they seem to prioritise other games and leave PES last. I see improvements in other Konami games the same effort dont appear in PES.

This is really evident in the X360 releases of both games. Sure, at the end of the day, Fifa's gameplay is childish intolerable rubbish, and PES will ultimately get the vote. But take a look at the massive graphics update EA introduced into its game:

free flowing hair and wrinkle of clothing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpdm_kLuj70

more hair dynamics
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9EKDoItXeY

clothes wrinkling and models "sink" in grass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZq59qpqe_g

^^^^ now this is next-gen....

What bothers you is, from the CGI movies from Konami over the past years, it's clear that Konami has an eye for this level of detail, and could easily introduce it... however, they seem to have lost the motive.

They make you cry but it doesnt mean you will necessarily get. Unfortunately that is Konami all over....When Ps3 console comes out. I'm a try FIFA 08 and PES7 and if i like one of them better than the other i'll get it.

Its not about being a silly fan boy. Its about buying the better product! And when people say look the passing is still poor the technique is still the same and movement is still bad. How will a PES fan defend that???? WHat by saying ball physics. Offcourse thats all Konami are relying on, Its called complacency.
