FIFA2004 Disappointment List

I dont know where to start first, but I just need to say Im one of those FIFA series supporters who have bought the series from FIFA96. There are obviously ups and downs throughout, and I still miss FIFA98, ROTC98 and FIFA2003. In fact I missed them so much that I uninstall FIFA2004 and reinstall FIFA2003 (with a outsider patch though, sigh...)

FIFA2004 is a new lowpoint for EA really, and here's my list, which I suggest people to keep on adding...
1) extremely slow players
2) sticky players with invisibly big size that balls got stuck and run round their bodies easily
3) super defenders who easily catches your ball and only know how to bunt the ball upfield
4) pinball like ball physics
5) everyone agrees: all goalkeepers are supermen, catch every balls
6) the closer the shot to the goal, the worse the aim and power whereas the further away from the goal, the more powerful the shot -> 40 yard goal
7) where the hell is the creation centre: for players, and customisable leagues?
8) banana like parabola for a shot
9) stupid free kick / corner system: cant even control your drop spot
10) what kind of menu is that
11) what kind of league table is that, has EA reverted to 40 column screen
12) team formation display, 8 players only?
13) slippery floor
14) poor research in every aspect of the game
15) I dont know which goon is responsible for the overall architecture of the game: but has EA done any alpha testing, not to even mention beta? This game wont go through the most basic test and even the most ardent EA supporters. Giving a patch 2 days after the game is released and still bugful? What are they doing
17) Where is the instant replay recorder?
18) The prestigious point systems doesnt work
19) Poor highlight after the game
19) The list goes on...

In a nutshell, the gameplay sucks badly. Im really wondering what kind of amateur programmer EA employs. They probably rewrite every games every year, which sees gameplay (or without it) changes every year. Everytime I try to play it, I get more angry... I need enjoyment from a game, not loathe.

Of course there are something great about FIFA2004. Its graphics and audio is awesome. Motson and McCoist mumbles rubbish sometimes, but audio is not bad. The player's face, which looks still like a sculpture is good and its like a movie. Ah that's the point, EA is producing a movie or a sim from FIFA2004. They are not selling a game. EA is Electronic Arts, not Games. Maybe we're expecting too much from an amateur.

My wishlist for FIFA2005? I hope it'll never come out, and let others do the job for soccer gamers.

its seems impossible 2 score a free kick. the only 1s i av evr scored hit the ground be4 getttin 2 the goal and then bobblin ova the keeper. it is 2 hard 2 score and almost impossible 2 get a spectacular top corner goal frm a free kick

First it is easy to score from a free kick and second stop complaing. This is thread number one million on why you guys hate FIFA. None of these are new complants. You guys just bitch about the same the same things over and over than I bitch at you to stop bitching about it. Please I know Fifa is not the best game but I do not mind playing it and I am not alone on that statment. I would say in conclusion this post was Bitchin'.

i have the ps2 version of fifa 2004 , i think its a good game. Some minor problems but nothing more. There are too many people here that want the perfect game , and if it isnt, oh...all those complainments.Just play the game and have fun ;) .

And oh the free kick system , LOL.Easy as hell.Always the most beautifull goals.Though i think there might be some differences from the pc version and ps2 version.I mean the gameplay then.

My opninion ( from someone who just wants to have fun in a soccer game with nice graphics and nice gameplay) : its a good game.I still got fifa 2001 for the ps2.If you see how much EA improved the game from fifa 2001 and fifa 2004 . wow . i must say good job.

And i play fifa 2004 every evening with my brother who cant beat me most of the times , fun times :D :rockman:

There are two types of fifa player

1. The one who loves football, plays it all the time and gets home and just ones two play a more relaxing type, they dont (or atleast i dont) care what the gameplay is like as long as its great fun which'll last a while

2. Fat person who watches it on the t.v and thats there only real experience, they want to get as close to playing real footy as possible so they want fifa to be perfectly realistic. Lazy feckers

:funny:

Sooo true, its just a game, fantasy. I admit that we must complaim so that it evolves.

The only disapppoinment for me is
1. No creation center. WIth a veritile CC we can make the game a lot more fun.
2. NO Japanese team, and the korean team wastes too much space with their faces. and they are way overrated!

Another thing:
So much, so much, so much bugs at EA Sports Online!!!
I really think we should doubt about the skills of the team who made Fifa2004.
Though i dislike many aspects of the game i still keep playing it, hours after hours.

Cheers

that list sucked....for one the players are not slow...second...why on earth would anyone care about the highlights.

The day that konami and EA make a soccer game together maybe that will be the most perfect soccer game (no perfect at all)
There some points that dont like about Fifa but i still playing it:
A lot of bugs (Fix it for 2005)
Theres no ages you cant know if player is too old or what
and they dont make The CC, that really sucks!!!

So stop crying, anyway what you going to do?
Sue EA or what?

Sorry for the bad english

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, BUT nothing is perfect, especially a PC soccer game. I still like FIFA 2004, I continue to play it against the PC and online but I hope that EA takes a closer look and makes FIFA 2005 amazing. FIFA 2003 was a big improvement over FIFA 2002, but FIFA 2004 wasn't as big a step up over FIFA 2003. Hopefully the menus will be better, the goalkeepers will improve, the long range shooting bug will be fixed, the computer attacks will be more than just straight up the middle and the stadiums won't be as shadowy. I've already listed what I thought were improvements on another post. Overall FIFA 2004 isn't as bad as many people will make you think it is. It's better than most games out there.

u my friend... r a noob.. i say that with utmost respect and i will tell you why..

If this had been my FIRST day playing fifa 2004.. i WOULD HAVE TOTALLY AGREED WITH YOU.. BUT I DONT :) Why? well ill tell you why.. Ive played over 300 games online, mostly 6 minute games ( 12-15 total) and the more i play.. the better i get.. the more i win.. and the More i love fifa.

Im not bragging.. but everyone b4 me, and those who follow me.. either already love fifa, or are beginning to love fifa 2004. Its only common knowledge that when u are good at something, you have fun with it.. But when you arent good at it, you either criticize it or.. you get mad and slam your controller against the wall! This is not to be offensive to you.. it is to simply tell you that BASED ON EXPERIENCE i have hated this game on the 1st thru 3rd week. Ever since the 2nd month ive had this game.. Ive loved it more and more, hence.. i have been winning more and more. So my tip to you is.. PLAY THE GAME MORE AND GOOD LUCK :)
