My FIFA 08 has recently started to exhibit the very annoying habit of crashing, usually, but not always, when a shot hits the post. You shoot, see the ball heading towards the goal past the despairing dive of the 'keeper, hear the thud of ball against post and suddenly the screen goes black and the message 'FIFA08.exe has stopped working...' appears. Windows (Vista) then embarks on a fruitless search for a solution to my problem...
This problem occurs in both Career Mode and regular Classic Mode matches. I found some suggestions that scheduled training in the career mode might be the problem in posts on this forum, so I went into my career and deleted all the future scheduled training sessions. Things seemed to improve for a bit but now the crashes are happening again in almost every match I play.
I've not loaded up any new kits or made any other changes to the standard game.
I think it may be due to some sort of profile problem as I've tried playing the game as a different user on my PC and that seems to be OK.
If it's any help my PC spec is:
Core 2 Quad
4Gb RAM
Vista Ultimate
GeForce 8800 Ultra using Forceware v169.25 drivers
Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be and how to solve it?
Thanks,
Charles.
