FIFA RTWC 98 : sound trouble with 1.xx patch

Hi everybody ! I've just re-installed fifa rtwc 98 for fun and I got the official patch to enable the d3d function. But sound in the game becomes ugly after this update... That's the same with 1.30 or 1.40 patch version... Does anyone notice that, ans is there any solution ? Thanks :)

P-S : I play under windows XP
