This is not a FIFA vs. WE post, and neither your commentaries above should've been.
You know this and you keep comparing both. That's the problem with WE fans. They try to justify playing WE and try to make everyone accept their opinion as the only true opinion for a matter.
Friends, look at my thread on PES vs. FIFA forum where I've included 3 videos for FIFA, WE and a REAL FOOTY MATCH (eng vs. Cameroon WC 1990). Then, stay there and discuss this endless rivalry btw both games.
What I came to do on this thread, is that I wanted to ask, and I'm not going to post the images here, 'cause you all know what I'm talking about, is that on WE6, WHY ON EARTH DOES THE INTRO VIDEO LOOK SO TERRIFIC, WITH ALL THAT PLAYER DETAIL AND MOVEMENT, AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE ACTUAL GAME IT's SO STATIC AND SCRIPTED AS COMPARED TO THE INTRO VIDEO?

It comes back to what I always say about konami, they think they have the best footy game ever, but still they have a ton of improvement to make, and you guys are so blind you can't see that, and you don't even care, even though they don't give a rat's @@@ss about improving sound or graphics. Please tell me why the huge difference in intro video and actual play graphics. Also, look at those three videos at the same time, those posted on my thread, and tell me which one resembles real football the closest. Watch how WE's players legs run so much faster in comparison to their actual moving on the pitch.
Now, I hope you'll realize how good FIFA is this year, read UK ps2 mag review, I posted on my thread on the other forum, and make your own conclusions.
All I wanted to say with this thread is that WE/PES, regardless of being a great game, is not perfect, has lots of flaws, and you are so blind you don't see that. I'm not saying FIFA is better (at least in terms of gameplay, but I could say that as soon as I play it when I pick the 2004 copy).
But enough of FIFA since this is a PES thread.

I'm not going to get drawn into any arguments here, but not all the FIFAs were cack. One of my favourite games on the Mega Drive was Fifa '95. It was quite realistic for the time, at least as realistic as ISS and ISSD.
However, I can't say any of the 3D Versions I have played(thats '99. '00, '01, '02) were that realistic. Regardless of who you were playing against you could take the ball and sprint through the defence, lashing it into the top corner past the keeper. Fun for about 10 minutes, but otherwise boring.
I've still got my N64, so when I want to play a football game I get out ISS '98 which for me is the perfect combination of Realism and fun. It's not perfect (what game is) but when you are playing against an equally skilled human (rare as no-one I know is any good at it) or a level 5 computer there is no better game.
But I haven't played PES2 or 3 at all, and have only played the other games in the ISSPE series a few times. I would like to play the game considered to be the height of realism, hence me being interested in PES3 on the PC.

I've played FIFA since '98 (save for FIfa 2000) Once I played a We4 or WE5-engine based game I was hooked. Even without the full licensing of actual clubs its the little things about football that matter, and FIFA tries to doll everything up but they continue to miss out on the most realistic elements of a Soccer game. Right...but if I want to see real kits, boots, player faces, chants and have very little control about what really happens, I'll attend a football match in person...thank you very much.
On the Brighter side, when EA faces stiff competition they normally respond well. I expect FIFA 2005 to be of a great improvement, w/ both ball physics and overall flow and even basic controlling of the players.

I think Fifa has improved a lot yhis year. Keeper is very bad though...
I never played WE7 (cause i only have a PC). Videos seem promising. I'm gonna try both, it seems kinda ridicolous to say a game is bad, when you haven't played it yourself.

And I'm not bashing. Just like many around here once upon a time FIFA was good for me, and even if it wasn't it was the only option I had. ISSPE changed that, and WE6:I made it better. So why should I buy a game from a series that has promised so much and offered so little vs. getting one from a series that is practically unknown in these parts, yet is now the favourite sports game of all my friends who have played it?
I tried the demo and quite frankly I wasn't impressed. The player movements still don't seem right or as fluid as we6i. The game speed even on a slow setting still seemed to fast. It seems like 2003 with a few changes. I couldn't get OTB control to work that well so I can't comment on that but from the demo there is nothing there to make me want it. I will keep playing we6i and wait for we7i in feb.

This year FIFA for PC looks to be the worst ever. I`ve read some reviews from objective members in the FIFA scene, even some fanboys that I know used to defend EA said that the gameplay was like s-hit at its purest form. And you know what ? Surprise, surprise, it has always been EA`s tradition to improve their eyecandy graphics, but this year for some unknown particular reason, the graphics was somehow are worse than FIFA 2003. Except for the teeth, yeah in the face texture format, there`s actually a space for the player`s teeth part, very small, but you can see the fangs in there. Ironically, I don`t think noone will give a damn about that. So, the conclusion is this year FIFA is pure s-hit either from the gameplay area and the graphical area. Realism ? I don`t think so. People said that the ball acts more like a bowlin` ball. There has been high hopes that the full version will be better, but we all know that for many years the demo is the same one with the full version, the only difference is that the full version will have more teams and tourneys.
