Just got the gamesmaster magazine. They have reviewed FIFA 06 and have given it a mark of 69%. When I get home tonight will scan the review.

Aye mate :jap: Though a good review is probably what it takes to make you splash of all that dough for the game in the 1st place.

the only review that matters is your own.

Thats really my policy. I mean I do read reviews just to get an Idea, but in the end I try and look at what the community says then give it a try myself.

To me I think these reviews are marked lower just because the producer said that if they don't get a 9/10~90% or whatever that they are all out of there.

Now I bet these are the same places that will give PES a 10/10

Well, 6-7 out of 10 is about what I would have given it. Its a very large leap from 2005, but it still feels unrealistic and boring. :ewan:

I must say, people of those magazines normally dont know how to play FIFA.
I base this from the videos they make, playing the game, the things they write i mean they probably only play FIFA to do the report for the magazine.

And normally they are all Pes fanatic.
Cause when people say "oh is more of the same" or something like this, they dont know a thing about fifa.

Fifa gameplay is not yet as good as PES but has PES got the stadium emotion and vibe that FIFA offers?
Common, the chants, the commentaries the small grafic details, these things give the game a great deep in realism.
And about the fake names, its pathetic. I understand its not their fault but its just boring playing with your team with fake names.

This is my point of view.

that's the oldest and most ****ty argumentation you can come up with as a negative thing for pes.

1.) they have added 3 fully licensed leagues allready, and they keep on gahtering licenses (gala, chelsea, arsenal, and so on)
2.)is it really that much a problem downloading a 500 kb file to get latest lineups, transfers, player names?

i mean, most of you download a new fifa database anyway, so why critizizing pes on that matter?

Well, having played the full PS2 FIFA 06 for the last day I'd definitely give it 4 out of 5 stars or 80-85% if I was rating it. Great game, much better than on the PC, except for the graphics of course.

you, pes guys, always turn any thread to make a pes vs fifa thread...with that arrogance and feeling of superiority that you know football better than the ones who play fifa.
At the end of the day is that so damn important to really know what is the the best of the 2's ?
whatever game you play it's intended to bring you fun. the rest is meaningless
PS: I always buy and play the 2 games and jump for one to another but I prefer fifa because playing pes ask for more practice if you want to be performant. I don't have the time and feel like for it, 'cause my main pleasure is editing ( 95% editing, 5% playing )
And please don't praise konami because editing pes is really a pain in the *ss.
konami don't give a damn about their customers. this year they even changed the code to make kit importing more difficult and maybe impossible.
You have to wait that people like Tristan spend literally hundreds of hours to make huge patches in order to have a decent feeling of playing with the teams you like... that means downloading stuff that is heavier as 500 MB
Another thing I would like to add:
There was a new development team working for EA this year. I think they made a pretty decent job.
I have been working for them , to edit the database. I can tell you that they do care. They listen to you, it's just take time to make the things move and at least they don't hesitate to work with guys from the community now. a new wind is blowing. But fifa WILL NEVER be like pes and vice versa.
We should only be happy to have 2 companies which bring games for the beautiful game of football,2 games which are different in their approaches so everyone should be satisfied .
and for God sake, who cares what the reviews write ? :nape:
play the demos and make your own opinion.
And every game is getting boring after a while just like a lot of things in life

Well fake names, stadium atmosphere is insignificant to the gameplay, heck i don't care if they were all fake names, with that sort of gameplay who cares?

The stadium atmosphere does add to the user experience but even with that, if the footie is unrealistic then your never going to really feel like your playing football anyway.

Each year PES does the same thing each year which is strengthening their winning formula while fifa just adds new gimmicks and animations. I have followed both series throughout the years and in all honesty, fifa fails each time with where it counts most and they still fail to realise this. Back in 98, fifa was something with all it's teams and fancy adverts but these really only appeal to the younger generation as every smart gamer knows better than to fall for EA's smart gimmicks.

I say, if they improved the shooting and made it actually fun to score goals, i would definately get this only but as it stands, shooting feels god awful in comparison to pes.

They listen to us, is that why they havn't added decent gamepad support yet? Saying that is a complete joke and in all honesty, BS. How many threads do you get asking how to configure gamepads and the ones who are dumb enough to try and contact EA, just get fobbed off as their customer support is clearly clueless.

Also maybe EA should develop the game in England where true FOOTBALL fans are, in Canada FOOTBALL is about as popular as basketball over here. They have their avid fans still but the majority of Candians, are quite clueless about FOOTBALL. That is another thing Konami excell in, everyone knows just how fanatical the Japs can get over certain things.
