FIFA 2006 Requests.

I see a lot of people are requesting or dreaming of very unimportant items.

More leagues, More stadiums etc.........

When push comes to shove I honestly could care less about what the stadium looks like etc.

I think we need major A.I. improvements.

We need players to start their own runs from midfield into open spots IF you have chosen attacking football as your style. Instead of simply pushing all the lines slightly more forward the players whould actually be attacking the ball more in the middle of the field.

We also need defenders that close down attacking players faster and more intelligently.

We need a goalkeeper that will come off off his line and actually close down an attacker.

We need defenders that know how to run up wings like Ashley Cole etc.... You never see a defender that far up in this game even on full attack unless you bring him all the way up yourself.

I dont know how some of you feel about the corners but I really hate the system where you pick what play you want to do. I like the idea behind but I feel it needs to be reworked.

There are no Pitch conditions in this game. Every stadium has perfect grass. Chelsea vs Charlton last year at the Bridge looked like a sandy beach. Some stadiums grass turns gross after a half season and that affects the ball.... Dont know if its too hard to code but a bobbling ball and with WIND that actually adjusts the balls trajectory would be LOVELY.

Im no too worried about goal celebrations and substitute animations. A refereee would be nice on the field though.

More injuries during games would be realistic. Not just to the point where the guy is crippled and needs subbing. But where they are slowed down and limping for maybe 1 min or so. Have it also that they are taken down more and need treatment. This will give teams a minute or 2 with just 10 men. This would be a boost for the realism.

Each League should play with its official ball. I know its nit picky but when I play LA Liga I dont want the regular ball I want the Aerow Total 90 in dark blue.


I could go on with a few more things but Im gonna go eat. =]

Some great ideas here Mutu, i just wish that EA would read some of our suggestions and use them.

I couldn,t agree more about the AI and gameplay improvements.
The player movement is too rigid for a start, you,ve got to have quick responsive movement & control, in a football game.
Although i think that most of the gameplay improvements are really good.
Some of the player movements and button delay, when playing the PS2 version is laughable at times.
Which is a shame really, because the new FT and passing systems do add a lot more, realistic creativity & flow, to the game.

If they take out English premier league for Ai improvement I bet you will be throwing yourself on the floor crying.

Here are my requests/wishes/hopes for Fifa2006:


** Various pitch conditions would be great. Muddy, sandy, snowy and pitches with waterponds.... and there should also be more variation with the weather. Wind, snow, heavy/light rain...

** When it comes to the crowd, I feel there's a lot to improve. (Not that it's the most important thing do) But I really, really, really want the various attendance back again. The stadium shouldn't be packed full when you play against a 3rd div team in the cup. More in-crowd animations would also be great, for instance reactions to goals and refereeing decicions. And one more thing that would kick ass; tifo shows! The sporadic flares in fifa2005 doesn't really take my breath away. Giant banners and paper rolls thrown out from the stands... it would rock!

** I've always wanted to push the keeper up on corners, when 90 mins are approaching and I'm under with a goal or two. This could be a great feature.

** Player match ratings after all matches, not just in the career mode. A cool feature when you play against a friend...

** More variations in the tackling/falling movements. I would love to see some really really bad tackles and following falls once in a while (not too often tho)... and if a player's really injured, it would be cool with a medic animation, helping the player off the pitch.

** Cup-finals and such MUST be given a special feel to it! Work with both crowd and player animations here... The nerve of the game shouldn't be the same as a mid-table mach as it seems to be in fifa2005. And if you win, of course there should be celebrations... give me champagne, give me team photos and fireworks! When rival teams play, there should also be some special animations... more fights and temper.

** Search mode in the transfer window. This is a must!

** Another must: Stats!! Top goal scorers, not only for your own team, but for the entire leagues... player match ratings as well, yellow/red cards..Team form, biggest wins/losses, most goals in a match by one player... I could go on and on here - We need more stats!!

** A really annoying bug in fifa 2005 should be fixed. Some years out in the career, when old stars retire, and new players see daylight, there are huge problems when this new player sometimes has the look of the player it replaced. The commentators even called my new, up-and coming star Ruud van-Nistelrooy several occations. And the crowd even does that ruud-howl everytime he scores(!).

** I like the crowd boo-ing on players recieved a yellow card, but this could be improved by boo-ing more than just the first time he recieves the ball after the booking. And what would be the coolest thing; the same boo-ing on players going to another club, and playing against their old club later.

** The free-style dribbling control should be improved. I find it pretty useless when you play the computer. Most moves doesn't put the defender off. However, it shouldn't be too easy either.

** Stadiums should evolute as say a third divition team reaches Premier League. It's just silly playing with the small stadiums when your little club gets more and more successfull.

** Classic teams would be a great un-lock feature. I would love to be able to play with say Gullit, Maradona, Cantona, Valderama, Romario etc... But I bet this idea would just be put into a Classic Fifa edition, for the $$$ obsessed EA.

As you all see, I don't have much to say about the gameplay here, as I am a huge fan of the FIFA series and I think FIFA 2005's gameplay is one of the best through the times... still there's of course lots of things to do, to improve the gameplay, but overall these listed above are my most important requests for FIFA2006.

Let's just hope EA is reading these threads... and using them to make FIFA2006 one wicked game!

Lets not get all crazy here here with "If they remove the EPL" =]

Its ok to have variation but people wanting things like the Turkish League and the Colombian League is getting a bit much.

AS long as the basic diet of BIG leagues and MORE international teams are there, then I would gladly sacrifice the Dutch League for some intelligent AI =]
