Fifa 2006 CEP - Career Expansion Patch

Sorry Billy but the problems you encountered derive from Creation Center (VEEERY buggy, believe me): if you downloaded the last version and the fifa.db fix from my site, and if you navigate your database with Access (after UniDB exportation) you will see that there is no duplicate, that old Salernitana, Genoa and Perugia are replaced by Catanzaro, Pescara and Vicenza. What I can suggest (but maybe you disagree ) is do not use Creation Center together with my CEP

I don't use CC either, I just opened it to see what it does show, but I didn't edit anything with it, and the fifa.db I use is the last one on your site, so I used the 0.7c patch + the last fifa.db found on your site and I did see the errors in Access

Edit : I restored my old db's and are going to try the original 0.7c one (not the one you have as a separate download)

mea culpa, I found the problem.

I did not simply overwrite my fifa.db with yours but copied/pasted the new teams under my existing teams since I created new ones myself and have tons of references in my table_teams that I didn't want to lose, but of course both Genoa and Salernitana retained their old id's along with the new ones, simply renaming them did the trick, sorry for the trouble

I read on the Fifamania forums that some people had trouble with Kitraptor, e.g. Fiorentina dissapeared and Vicenza was not to be found, Salernitana appeared twice and such. I found the cause, it was the teams.ini file of your 0.7c patch that contained 3 lines that weren't correct, I corrected them in the file below, feel free to use it if you want. Also, I am in the progress of translating and modifying my dut.db and ger.db files to reflect the modifications of the CEP patch for my personal use, once I am finished, if you want them you can include them in your patch if you want so the dutch and german versions are covered also.

Brilliant idea Billy! You can post the language files translated and I will incude them in the CEP of course. Teams.ini has been fixed and packed in the 0.7c version anyway, but for the ones who downloaded the 0.7 version with the fix can be useful. Thanks a lot.

Yes he's included, but as I wrote in the readme I need the help of knowers of these leagues to make the players more realistic. If you want see Frutos stats you can download the patch and give a glance to it

Of course if you previously modified your fifa.db and languages files (things that modify tournament) the game structure changes so it's easy that the game can crash. Actually mexican teams qualify for libertadores and sudamerican depending on clausura classification, what in next version I want add, as in reality, a single mexican tournament available in career to qualify mexican teams into continental competitions. If you can help me understanding exactly how libertadores, sudamerican and mexican teams qualification work I can implement it in the CEP

(help for mexican teams in general is very welcome, you can use this thread or the CEP forum on my website: I speak spanish fluently)

ok, if you want to add the tournament that qualifies mexican teams to libertadores i'm going to explain it.

it's named "Interliga" there are 8 teams divided in two groups
teams qualify to this tournament depending on apertura and clausura classification, but the champion of apertura and champion of clausura don't participate because champions need too play concacaf champion's cup so other teams enter in the competition.

the teams that participate this year are:
Group A
(2) Monterrey
( 6) Monarcas Morelia
(14) Pachuca
(13) Veracruz

Group B
(11) Necaxa
(3) Cruz Azul
( 8) Tigres
(5) Guadalajara

*Number between () indicates the Apertura and Clausura classification
Those are the real groups

Winner of group A and the winner of group B play the final and the winner goes to Copa Libertadores (replacing Monterrey in your patch)

Second place of group A and B play another match and the winner goes to the first round of Copa Libertadores (where you put Cruz Azul)

U.N.A.M. participates in Copa Libertadores because they won Apertura and Clausura 2004 (it's ok in your patch)

Interliga its played the first 2 or 3 weeks of january, so you have to modify the apertura calendar to put the beginning in the last week of january


There's anohter mexican tournament that you can add, is like a Supercup, it's named Campeón de Campeones and is played by the winner of Apertura playoffs and winner of Clausura playoffs. It's played before the beginning of the season in july. And are 2 games (one home and one away), and no away goal rule. The teams that played this tournament this year was UNAM vs América


Modifications to Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana you can do:
Copa Libertadores is played since last week of january (qualif. round) to june.
Copa Sudamericana is played since august to december
And in twice, the final is played in two games, in copa libertadores without away goal rule, and in copa sudamericana with away goal rule.

What a complicated system. I'll illustrate the problem that exist with this structure:

1) Champions of clausura and apertura partecipate to CONCACAF cup: ok, I'll add it too soon, but what if the same team wins clausra and apertura? The game will hang for sure because there will be a duplicated team (I don't think the game can understand to pick up the finalist in this case).
2) Seems like the partecipant to Interliga are randomized each year, right? Fifa needs a reason to pick up teams in tournaments.

I'll modify libertadores and sudamericana as you write.
I think I will try to make a less realistic but more racional system for mexican teams, for example considering the apertura positions for the partecipants: first goes directly to libertadores, from 2 to 9 go to Interliga, two winner of the groups go to libertadores.

I don't understand anyway which mexican teams go to copa sudamericana. Can you help me on this?

for example pumas won apertura and clausura 2004, then they participate in concacaf champions cup 2004, and in libertadores 2005

yes jaja, but its because of the mexican federation, i sugest you to put the teams of the actual tournament and then there will be the same places (the one's that i posted) forever in fifa

yes, i think its easie, but goes directly the winner of the playoffs, not the number 1 in apertura, i dont know if you understand? apertura is the qualification for the playoffs and winner of playoffs goes directly

apertura playoffs winner and clausura playoffs winner goes to sudamericana

if the interliga is difficult for the fifa db,its better that you send to libertadores the teams that you want like in the actual patch

I found problems with chilean transfer markets (same type of problems that argentina gives): I'm fixing this because career modality in Region 2 (south america) crashes arriving to the second turn of transfermarket.

I found another little problem, ingame, the Vicenza logo overwrites the Fiorentina one and Vicenza don't have one, to fix this you have to rename the t122_110374.fsh to t122_110373.fsh inside the zdata_32.big file of your CEP patch and then problem is solved.

Thanks, I'll check this. In the meanwhile I upped a new fix for fifa.db on my homepage:

- fixed argentina league problems (now present in career)
- fixed chile league problems (as above)
- fixed some problems with copa libertadores calendar

Now career modality in Region 2 works perfectly

Could you tell me which tables changed to fix the above problems as I just want to overwrite those tables that caused the problem, to save time and save the references in my table_teams to adboards (I have 200+),table_teamkits (added 57 third kits and even more goalkeeper kits) and table_referees (I have 78 referees in there)

I did not modified table_teams, table_teamkits and table_referees, so just import back these tables in new fixed fifa.db.

Would you like to share with the CEP your 78 referees? Or it's another patch you downloaded?

The teams that broke the argentina league are Newells Old Boys and Gymnasia Jujuy: temporary I removed them trying to understanding why: if someone can help me what's wrong with these two teams in the CEP I will be able to update again the argentina league. See ya.

Would you like to share with the CEP your 78 referees? Or it's another patch you downloaded?

Yes, I downloaded the referees patch 2.0 from Fifamania, it is perfectly compatible with the CEP, it just adds the 78 referee graphics in zdata_1.big and changes the table_referees and table_refereescountrylinks within the fifa.db without changing the other tables. (they use the early beta of a program from Rinaldo in their install program to do this, not sure if I can mention it here already)

i'm going to ask a somewhat interesting question...

when installing each patch (donovanfan's, OcKHAM's or any other one) do you have to use the fatbuilder each time or just once? I've been somewhat curious about that.. and I am really looking forward to these patches. Whether playing in one of the S.A. leagues, MLS or any European country, I know I have options on leagues. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all of your work on making the FIFA series better!

You always have to execut fatbhuilder.exe. Me and Donovan make patches with a great innovation: you don't have to import nothing inside Fifa 2006 files, just a simple rebuild with fatbhbuilder. Consider that I'm honored to work together with Donovan and that his patch will be available as a standalone and included in CEP too.
