FIFA 2005 Preview - What do you want to know?

Hey there,

Ten things I would like you to ask/check/whatever:

1. Is there Direct IP? What are the options? Can we play overtime/penalties if the game is tied?

2. Is there silver goal? Can you choose between normal extra time, golden goal and silver goal?

3. Are they delaying the game for PC just like they did with Madden 2005? Do they have a release date yet?

4. Do you still have the 'Walk' button like in Fifa 2004?

5. What options are there for multiplayer tournaments? Save/Load? Customization?

6. How much more 'freedom' do you have when passing, lobbing and shooting? Are the new controls totally free or do they still have predefined directions?

7. How is the AI this year? Last year, as it has been the last FIFA's, user patches for the AI have outplayed EA's default AI both in realism and in difficulty.

8. Are bicycle kicks back?

9. How is the free kick system? Will we still have to shoot from nearly mid-field and from odd angles or will it have a better zone detection and present you with a list of options (crosses, free, etc.)

10. Are keepers better this year? This is the only thing I didn't like when I saw the trailers, the keepers still seem a bit unrealistic and not very spectacular.

Thanks for the response everyone. Keep them coming. Obviously I can't check every detail but I'll do my best.

I will now be playing FIFA 2005 sometime next week instead of this Friday so I can play a beta version of the game. This way I can get a better idea of what the final game will be like. So you'll just have to wait another week for my findings.

****e you are so lucky ok how bout u ask about something else for once everytime it's gameplay maybe something different would mean that they might make it good for once.
i reckon since cc is on every one's minds at the moment why not
and then maybe something of your choice i don't have many ideas at the moment everyone else is pretty bright.

if you have time in the menus can you see the create players and see how the menus and everything is?
i'm kind of worried that they scrapped the ea dna because they haven't been talking about it lately.

oh and do players actually touch the ball and stuff?

i just saw a mew first touch video and it looked like there was an invisible barrier between the players body and the ball. when he "made contact" with the ball it didn't even look like the ball touches him.

I don't really have much to add to the questions that have allready been posted here, but I would like to know if outfield players can have long sleeves again, like in fifa 2003, and I heard a rumor that in carrer mode you can only start with a lower league team and have to work yourself up in reputation, I would like to know if this is true, or if you could start with your favorite top division club

Ask them about the physics. Ask whether the ball sticks to the player or whether it's controlled by it's own set of phyiscs like in WE/PES. Is the ball motion scripted or does it depenend on many factors like player's shot strenght, its own position and the player foot's position at the time of kicking, etc.

That's the stuff that makes a football game, not a damn creation center if you know what I mean.

are the keepers dumb like in 2004 where when they run out and try to clear a ball sometimes they slide and even run past the ball, please say they do actually kick the ball
