FIFA 2004 The biggest FIFA let down yet!!

I think overall after watching all the pre-release video's this has to be the biggest FIFA let down yet, lets face it even the most die hard of FIFA fans have to say its bloody awful

Graphics- I think these have actually not improved at all, the game to a lot of people is jerky, i have recently downloaded the PE3 game and is smooth as silk, the lighting is unreal and the goals are so unrealistic and dark!!

Sound- FIFA 2003 i could hear all the chants, this year the atmosphere has been lost- i just has, commentary in parts has improved-well done!

Presentation-EA's usual excellence , well the music is crap apart from 3 tunes, the menus are god awful in looking and its just shabby all round

Gameplay- Well well well, one on ones with the keeper??? non existant almost AI from CPU-dreadful play down the middle all the time, no tactics no surprise elements just dreadful and the fact that in any level, half a decent player can shoot and score from 50 yards is just rediculous and watching the keeper back on the replay is an embarrasment to football

I Loved FIFA RTWC and World Cup 98 EA were at there best, presentation was awesome and the gameplay was fun and rewarding and had a nice balance and it has to be said were the market leaders at the time FIFA 1999-2002 were a shambles 2003 improved, now this is just a joke that has and wil be on my hard drive but will never use again

Pro evolution 3 has made this game redundant and if you dont believe me, just talk to most who have played it, they are not asking for urgent patches to the demo- yes the demo is better than the full EA game!! PES has one on ones its has individual skill it has a killer through ball, something that EA has never done right!!! it has cross field passes into space, it has CPU Ai that attacks from all sides and learns your tactics but the one thing is doesnt have that EA waste time and time again is the licence, its a bloody shame as i was expecting a lot more from EA a hell of a lot more!!!!

And on your 10th post, that what u posted, crying, like a sisi boy. come on men dont play the game anymore. its ur business if it sucks. We dont care about you, and neither do EA. If you want a tissue, well Walmart and the closest gas station, gotssssssssss plenty available, u can even use it to wipe ur Fifa 2004 or ur console/ pc

some of what you said was rubbish, but some was true

i don't ge what u mean by no one on ones, unless you're not skillful enough and too busy playing with your little pes3

one on ones do happen, just takes skill, something pes3 misses

about pes3 by the way? howcome they run like horses and suddenly move side to side, just a load of rubbish!?

well if you think FIFA is realsitic you need your head seeing to, and as for the other comments i am a FIFA fan and have purchased them all, all i was saying was it is a big big letdown and i expected more

Hey jimmyboy.....i have to admit that i agree with u, i expected a lot more form EA with this game, but dont get me wrong! I buy every FIFA every year and play them all for a long time, but what im saying is that FIFA 2004 did not live up to its hype....im not saying its horrible, infact it is very improved yet i expected more to this year's FIFA and i believe EA can do alot better if they just give more time and effort. but hey, cant wait till FIFA 2005!

The worst i the FIFA Series IMO was FIFA 2000 on the playstation but I really like FIFA 2004 and i get the feeling alot of people are just slagging the game for no good reason.

Yeah - I agree.
It makes me laugh - A few weeks before 04 came out, and for about 1 week after it did, everyone thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!
Now the same people are saying that it's crap!

100% agreed, I can't believe people can't notice all that. I mean its sooooooooo awful its not funny man, its not funny at all. :rolleyes:

I think that's a load of crap coming from a person who can't play the game.

And if you don't like scoring from 50 yards out, well don't. I don't even go for those. It's as hard as that. Keepers are fine otherwise.

its the fact i can play the game that and that it is so predictable that makes it a dispointment, its not crap a hell of a big team witha lot of effort worked on it, just get 50 guys from these forums to test it and u will see a better game. Why should i because of bad keeper AI not shoot where do you draw the line between when it is safe to shoot or not.

Lets face it the keeper AI in FRTWC was better and they were better animated.

I think the fans of the fifa games deserve a lot of credit ,basically for being so loyal over the years to easports, each year we part with our hard earned cash , thinking and hoping with high anticipation that the next fifa will be something special, and then to be let down again, five years from now and i wonder if easports will have finally made a soccer game to be proud of , but even if they have not, you will still get people praising them for their efforts, even all the fifa lovers out there will have played the pes3 demo why! because they love playing soccer games, but how many of them will honestly admit that the pro evolution 3 game is far far superior to fifa 2004

i agree with everything u said. fifa 2k4 is crap.
ea have taken a huge leap backwards if u ask me. i shall be going back to 2k3, much more fun and half decent online play where 2k4 sux...gameplay is too slow and players control feel wooden. i was just reading the post above which said will ea make a perfect footy game. the answer to that is no. cos if they did who would go out and buy their next installment. all about money. ...mans greed:)

Thanks Guys but can you believe that a so called football fan asked me not to shoot from 50 yards out. The main problem i have is there is always going to be a so what factor in scoring on EA and scoring is what football is mainly about. The same old goals the same inept keeping. In PE3 you get so much feeling about scoring, it takes work, the net ripples the ball spins its perfect. EA need to work on ball physics and all the variables a game of football involves. Off the ball moves was a good idea in practice but poorly executed. But on anotehr subject who thinhs teh presentation and graphics and sound are not up to it? cause i think they have gone backwards especially the sound
