THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON 15 GAMES in Career mode with REAL MADRID on SEMI-PRO LEVEL.
I have about 30 goals in the season so far, 28 goals have been scored from outside the Box. im averaging 3-0 scores every game.
The Menus in Fifa are boring and horrible, uninspiring and unpumping. Generates same emotions as MSDOS of windows. NO ADRENALINE RUSH.
Music is Really Good. Great great.
Graphics are Great. Players look great and feel good. Stadium is perfect size, Perfect. NETS do move.
Free Kicks Are great. 1 is easy 10 is hard, The free kick are 7. Nice options to choose and kick, very exciting and interesting, I cant wait to play a important match 1-1 and a free kick in late minutes.
Corners are incomplete but great. You can fight and lose, or fight and win. Its fun and takes effort, not stressful though. But, You cant control the player kicking the ball so I think that makes the corners options incomplete. Maybe they should make a patch to let you choose to kick and receive, or just receive.
Team Management is great. Tactics are easy, added OFSIDE trap option. BUT like i said, THE INTERFACE IS SO UGLY, ITS NOT fun to stay in the MENUS, You will just want to PLAY AND PLAY.
TEAMS SELECTIONs are horrible. No Romania, Holland, Chile, Yugoslavia, Partizan, Argentinian League. STUPID STUPID
Dribling is great. While Running, You hold R2(10) and move the right analog button, the players perform single, double stepovers, backward drible. If you just hold the Right analog button they will just tap the ball left or right same as if just sprinting.
OFF THE BALL CONTROL works great. I use it every game, helps get the ball down the field or down the flanks. Its not hard or time consuming.
Passing is PERFECT. groundpasses are realistic, if you are a scared player in real life and you pass wherever you see your player without looking at other teams' player positions, the ball will get intercepted. The square button used to lob is perfect. You can chip the ball to your players quickly and have them receive it quickly or QUICKLY head it to next player if someone is coming onto them.
Shooting can be said to suck. It doesnt suck, but if someone says it sux, theyr on the right track. The bar fills up to quickly, which most players wont be able to handle or like. I am oright with it. But the reason shooting is bad is because its too easy to score from outside the box, really really easy, just touch the circle button and you will score. that is honestly almost the only way to score 90% of time.
GAMEPLAY OVERALL is great, very fun, if you are a decent college/amateur/profesional soccer player in real life, you should become great at FIFA 2004 with couple weeks/months of perfection. PASSING is the key, DRIBLING up front is the key, it works and works great and realistically, just like in real life, not too often. Players do turn INWARDS if they are chasing the ball out of bounds, sometimes they are late though, like in real life.
TOURNAMENT OPTIONS IS THE weakest part of the game. NO multiplayer season mode, THAT kills because I know ALL FOREIGN players like ME get together with their foreign friends in their city and play out a league in one day
NO EUROPEAN CUP qualifiers and final tournament. JUST really boring for one player , other than the Career mode which is just UNINSPIRING because of the BORING INTERFACE AND MENUS.
I would give the Gameplay 9.0 without the shooting. because i think shooting can be fixed with a patch so you cant score easy.
