Fifa 2004 and geforce 4 mx

i play fifa 2004 with an amd 1,1 gh 256 mb ram and a geforce 4 mx. why does the game not run smoothly when i play it in 1024x768, even 800x600 isn´t the greatest to play.
is there a problem with the game and my graphic card, or have i done something wrong installing my drives probably??
can you help??

yup... thats arnd my setup... won't run smoothly cuz geforce 4 mx is basically a geforce 2 on steroids... compare your performance with a geforce 2 Ti, its abt the same...

even so.. its pretty playable at 1024x768 (as long as you have 16 bit color, not 32)... i checked the fps... it averages around 33, 34... which is pretty playable

alrighty then...i have a amd 1500+ (1333 Ghz), 512 ram and geforce 4 mx and i'm running the game in 1600x1200 (19" monitor) and it's perfect...i'm guessing it's extra ram you need...

nope... extra ram won't help you much... mocas... go into your detonater settings and check the mip mapping settings... my guess is that its on something other than 'best image quality'...

also, check what render detail you are running at...

resolution isn't everything... the fps that i stated were at 16 bit, best image quality mip mapping, anistropic filtering, and maximum rendering quality...

Simple your system is not strong enough to run that fine. You're forgetting that every year the game is stronger, and the days that you run FIFA good on a Geforce 4 MX are over, what I suggest is get a faster CPU en GPU and more memory.

fifa 03 and 04 dont run smooth on gforce4 mx and ti, it seems, even with far better system than yours (amd2600, 1gig ram here).

Smoothness is very subjective and even if fraps says i'm at 60+ fps its choppy, stuttery, well un^playable out of the box


do a search in the forum for "RENDER_EVERY_AI_FRAME = 1
DRAW_EVERY_AI_FRAME = 1", it will probably help you

My PC is good for now, and ur right, i probably have to end up buyin a new PC for FIFA 2005.....which is sad because my computer isn't that bad.

The geforce 4 card is good enough to run any game ya guys dont know what your talking about.

I have pentium 3 500

and I am running the game on medium detail

I think ya guys having problems with have done something wrong with your drivers


ohh also update your chipset drivers too

and dont forget to turn off anything running on the background of your system.

ok thanks ill check that. maybe my drivers are wrong but... i dont assume that because i just installed the latest...

This is utter garbage. I have a geforce 4 MX and I'm running FIFA 2004 in 1600X1200 with no problems. I have an Athlon XP 1500, 256 Mb ram and the Geforce..

Can ya do me a favour and try the game on high detail on your system and tell me how its running ?????

Cause Im planning to change my system very soon to athlon ....
