every yr the graphics keep pushing the cards more and more.. so just because you played last yr fine, doesnt mean this year your card supports the lighting effects or whatever format of graphics they use.. so look at your card and how good is it, and if it doesnt have at least 64mb it wont run ok
Peruvian and Timid Chicken it really sounds like you need better graphics cards, they say 32Mb minimum, i'm not sure if that is the recommended value as well, i'd say 64Mb is, but there are many good knock down cards at 64Mb going relatively cheaply, especially if you look well, u cud get aa Geforce MX440 64Mb for just a little more than the price of a Playstation2 game.

I think that I have the same problem. But it started when I was using "ALT+TAB". And whenever later I started the game it ended in windows. Try reinstaling Fifa! It works!

Yeah, but i'm sure you have a very fast processor or lots of RAM, you may even have 2 16 MB cards, and if its just the one, your game looks horrible most likely and ou've switched of all the extras..with such a low spec card, you must be working on bare minimums, and as well you probably have lots of RAM to make the game run smoothly.

Trus t me fellas, upgrade. or the game willtake ages to load etc.

Check all your drivers as well, make sure you call EA as well, to see if your graphics cards are compatible with the game. and try uninstalling other games and other software that might be causing conflicts. you may always re-install them afterwards. if that doesn't work, then re-install windows. - but do that ony after you've uninstalled rest of the stuff.

HE HE HE I'll explode :kader: . U'll think I am telling u bull **** but not. My spec is:

P2, 300, 64MB, 8GB disk and I had woodo1 graphic which is the only thing I needed to replace in order to start the game. After I replaced it with G Force 2 64MB RAM, no probs at all. Game is a bit slow at the beginning (say 30s) and after that play it normally.

yeah it should work, let me stress the importnat things...u've got the required RAM, u've got the required graphics card RAM of 64Mb, u satisfy the min requirements, if should work, fine as they say, the min they put is their, and it will work, i think the most important bit tho is Video Card, 64MB, i'm sure you have Windows 98SE dont u?
and its slow, and do time with a stop watch the time a match takes to load once the 12th man starts blinking.

FOr me the shortest its taken is 10s, and the longest 30s timed exactly.

I have the same problem, start fifa2003 and crash back to desktop, the only way I can stop this is to edit the soccer.ini file and set video to 0 , this seems to play in software mode which is ugly.

My system is a P4 2.53 on an Epox 4g4a+, 1gb DDR333, Radeon 9700Pro and a SB Audigy.
I have tried DX8.1 and currently DX9 with various Radeon drivers.

This is PI$$ POOR EA, £35 for a game that wont run

I know, i think thats why a lot of people have given up FIFA2k3, but you cant blame em tho, b/c all their other games now demand better machines, the min requirements has been P1 166 for far to long, they've raised it now.

Btw i recommend you try this option AndyK has suggested before you spend lots of money on new hardware, if you are satisfied with playing the game looking this way, then good, i hope it works ok for u
