Fifa 2003 is really fantastic

I have not seen a better game than fifa 2003 . It's the best game I have ever played. The gameplay is better in the full version than the demo .

The club championship is the best in the game.

The shooting is better also ; scoring from wide distance depends on the player's shotting power and the strenght of the GK.

Notice that the more u play in a harder level , the more the game gets realastic.

Are you playing PC or PS2.

PS2 has a huge problem. If you stand still no-one will attempt to tackle you. Therefore go ahead and then get the ball and don't move and you'll win.

PC people, GC, XBOX please check this isn't in their game.

PC also has this problem. When you stand still, no one will tackle you. There's also another thing about the formations screen, it's not as flexible as before. You can't have wingers or wing-backs, especially in 4-3-3 formation. No sweepers unless playing 5-4-1 or 3-5-2 defensive. I guess that you win some, you lose some. Gameplay's FANTASTIC! Better than previous fifa series:D

I agree, game play is fabulous this year.

I think FIFA 2004 will be incredible if they keep to this standard and have longer to work on it!! :rockman:

Anelka, no one cares about this Stand still thing... it happened in previous version and why would you want to stand still regardless if they tackled u or not. I'm sure ea will fix it.. they did alot just to gain back some gameplay ground anyway. Standing around isnt a issue since no one should be just standing anyway.

Actually if you think about it, standing still is part of the game..... You stand still, attract players towards you, and make a pass,,,, pretty realistic.... but that's why it's not if Fifa 2003 I guess.....

yeah you also attract players to you just by having the ball moving it a lil or passing it around... I'm not saying its perfect.. but the amout of work they did to get the game play even this realistic.. I'm not gunna bitch about standing still cause the fact is.. for the most part NO ONE that pays soccer video games stands still on the picth or even this abou tit.. they are normally thinking about their next pass, and scoring etc... I'm not worried about it.. I just wont score a goal and then sit their to protect a lead. Thats all I'm saying.

I want to know how the green of turfs is ? It is too dark like in Fifa 2002 and world cup or is it more realistic ?

P.S. Insomma com'è l'erba del campo scura o chiara ?

realistic to a certain extent, there are still too many scripted events imho , especially the crosses. Although they are better than in 2002 , crosses still don't feel like the real deal. The comp usually deceides about the height and speed of the ball (e.g. a fast low ball or a slower high ball) and sometimes they score without you having to push any buttos. Major scripting if you ask me. I want to be able to put the ball EXACTLY where i want, not where fifa deceides it will put it. I played some pes lately (emulator) to see what it was like and despite it's own faults, i like the crossing model ...

oh well, can't have it all :)

The standing thing depends on which level you play, with wich teams you play, what kind of competition you play.........
I played the second match of champions league with juventus against Auxerre at Pro level and tryed to stay still at the 3/4 of the pitch, and guess what? 3 players slid in and fouled me!!!
Actually I think higher about the demo as of the whole game, now that I've been playing the real one, I've found that EA actually messed it up a little! The shooting from outside the bow is practically impossible in the full game, while it was realistic in the demo. For me the defense was more aggressive in the demo as in the full game, wich gives me this annoying feeling of being able to score whenever I want to! I can still get right in front of the keeper and shoot! I can easily create a situation of 4 of my men against 2 of their, wich forces the computer to hold the marking, for if he doesn't I just pass to my players and score, so he holds the markings and I'm clear on goal! This makes the game very boaring! On the other side, sitll on Pro, the attacking of the computer is awesome, and gives me much truble, so until I get to win regularily, I won't get over to WC.
The menus are really screwed up, the formations are better I think, more possibilities. The songs though are soo bad! I hope too much somebody will find out how to import own songs or other Fifa songs into this game!
I won't write about the positive aspects, as they are already well known, and I'm really starting to feel :-puke: of hearing the same **** over and over again!

i just hope they keep evolving. i am a little afraid that this will be a big seller and EA will pull the lazy one again. "see we sold 10 million copies, so our game must be perfect"

it is good in one way -- dribbling, the passing, the way players move (i am talking about the PS2 version) but there are still some annoying leftovers from the dark days. the entire shooting engine is still on par with 2001. freaking bullets. and where is touch sensitivity? defining the strength of a shot by how long you hold the button rather than how hard you press it? come on! that's not very intuitive. the goalies are all superhuman (even seaman).... plus some minor little things which water down the immersion effect: the net feels more like a wire mesh. even when Del Piero hammers a 200mph ball in it doesn't move a bit...

this game is a first step to a really good overall footy title.. but they just have to keep on pushing... let's hope...
