Ok it works now but with last year's script I didn't need to do all that :D
It would be great if you can make it automatically choose the texture just like last year.
Thanks a lot for your work :)

The material assignment is working exactly like last year :O

For me it's different. In 2.68, the head was quite large as it appeared on screen. Now in 2.71 when I import, the head is much much smaller. I now have to use decimal points in scaling an image to align with the head, very frustrating.

That is true indeed the models should be smaller than they were last year, BUT in 3d modeling, we are talking about vectors, there is really no meaning talking about small or big parts, the bigger you zoom the larger then model will look like, there are no restrictions or drawbacks on this.

However if its frustrating for you to get close to the model i could propose two things:

1) First work on orthographic and not perspective view (Press 5 on Numpad)
2) Blender offers you a button to automatically full zoom into any selected object and this is done by pressing the del key on the Numpad.

I hope this helps

Thanks for your help. I already work on orthographic, and the delelte key didn't change anything. I have to mess around with decimal values to align the image.

It's not that big a deal if nothing can be done about it, it's only a small issue. I just thought there would be a simple quick fix that I was unaware of. :)

Ah sorry guys, i did not get that you were talking about the images.

I am pretty sure that i can change the increment via python to use a step of 0.1 or a 0.01, but a way easier solution would be to globally scale the model 10 times up (thats the difference with last year) use your image like you used to, and when you are done, simply scale it back down.

That should work :)

Great, thanks for all your help. I thought about scaling too, but how do you scale the model back to original size after editing, without undoing any changes?

the best way to scale it for this purpose is to use the transformation panel (pressing N i think in the viewport) On the top rigth there are the scaling options. Set them all to 10. Work on the model. When you are done, set them back to 1. Keep in mind to scale ALWAYS in object mode. If you scale in edit mode, you have fucked everything up :P
