FIFA 11: Too good, too bad

I've just played fifa 11 (test it before buying it) and this is what I like about it:
1. Exceptional graphics
2. Excelent players movement
3. Very good AI
4. Wet kits in rain
5. Nice announcer callnames before the match

But, most important this is what I DISLIKE:
1. No new stadiums - except generic, and eaven wors, less real stadiums
2. No new faces (as far as I can tell, just updated a few)
3. No posibility to choose opponent for friendlys (are selected auto)
4. No more training in free days in calendar
5. Bad defending for controlled team (stand your ground very bad)
6. No more specific team player position on the field like in real life
7. No passion and commitement in the commentary

For now I'll stick to fifa 10 (at least in fifa 10 when the ball hits the ground in rain it makes splashes, with all the graphics in fifa 11 it doesent do that, it's quite dry ball only kit and crowd are wet) I have a lot of updates on it, so...
A lot of player faces, a lot of stadiums, new generic kits, new referees, new balls, etc.
Again a BIG dissapointment from EA... lack of perssonall maybe, they add new graphics and that's all, no one to build new faces...

So far I think FIFA 11 is worth the purchase over '10. It's everything '10 has plus a more refined passing system. No more pinging perfect passes off of every player regardless of which way they are facing.

even i am still struggle with fifa11 full game. so far still playing fifa11 demo... one thing surely love about fifa11 is its game play. its totally impressive.

i dont really care about stadium cause its only appear on the first and end of the match. i also dont care about commentary cause there are none from my languages

Wrong mate.

Friendly matches allow to choose both the teams. In quick matches opponents are selected auto (FIfa 10 also did so). But this time the quick match opponents can be customized to 1. Rival teams, 2. Any team from same league. 3. Random opponent, 4. Random teams both.

If u want to choose opponents, select Exhibition, not Quick match

I think he means in manager mode, friendlies are automatic.

My downs:
the soundtrack is very very low isn't it?
no option to save a replay.
no handballs.
no quick repositions apart from fouls.
in be a pro the cpu first team (not the reserve) almost never subs a player, i've played 16 matches so far and in the stats only the 11 starters have played, a few teams have a sub or two with one or two matches.
in be a pro i never got subbed out (or in).

Hi there, I'd like to share some of my thoughts about FIFA11 PC

- Be a Pro is still far behind PES' Become a Legend. Be a Pro is just so arcade - you play, play and play. No fighting for the 1st eleven spot, only 4 seasons (that's what it says when you begin atleast), captain making changes (wtf?)

- Manager mode - cash format is annoying. It should be X.XXX.XXX (MILLIONS.THOUSANDS.HUNDREDS). In the XXXXXXX format you have to hold on and check if its for example 20 or 2 millions sometimes. Might look minor but for me it's annoying as hell.

- Headers - I have Andy Carroll in the team and even he can't score a header, what the heck? I've nearly scored with a cross (the keeper punched it out from the goal line) but I can't score a header from ANY position and range. It will either go wide or straight to the goalkeeper.

- Manual Shooting - so I have this gamepad with analog sticks of course and when I set shooting to manual I can only shoot in 8 directions, not any angle I want. This is bad as automatic shooting sucks.

- Manual celebrations look REALLY robotic

- No handballs and refs never making mistakes (for example calling an offside when there was no offside)

Now let's talk about the good things:

-The game is finally playable even with those mistakes. I hated the plastic FIFA 07-10 where a half of the pitch was fully crowded by 5 players

- The graphics are alot better, even though it's still far behind PES and the players have finally learnt to untuck a shirt

- So many boots <3

- Through passes are awesome

- The goal is finally wider than the keeper in it

- You don't play with a basketball anymore <3

- The 360 scoreboard looks MUCH better than the ones we had before


Well, that's what I've noticed so far. The game has been improved, but it's still far away from perfection. But well, way to go EA.

Another bad thing i've noticed: when you finish a match, in the player ratings, only 11 players are rated, and are those who finished a match, if a player played 89 minutes, it doesn't get rated.

Also, in be a pro, when the cpu shifts your position, you don't get a notification, when you are returning to your previous position, you'll notice that the arrows point somewhere else.

There is no new faces, and for me its disappointment

well guys its only a finger's game. no perfection in this world. even for real world, soccer is far from perfect. look at the last week's results on real soccer....

Barca 0 - 2 Hercules,
Sevilla 0 - 2 Hercules
Arsenal 2 - 3 WBA,

how come those BIG teams defeated by them (Herc & WBA)... and you just complaining about simulation game at your 17" or 19" flat/tube screen..

my motto on pc games is TAKE IT or LEAVE IT or WAIT TO THE MODDERS FOR SATISFYING YOUR NEEDS..

1-st of all I want new faces to add in the game...
Rest I don't mind...
I don't like the game right now, I thought it would be better, I'm a Spurs fan and no faces for Gomes, Dawson, and other good players, plus no stadium, so if I can't be happy playing with this team there is no point in playing it!

Right, but the only evolution is graphics and gameplay. It kinda' look like PES... I liked the game for Manager Mode, so more like Fifa Manager and less like PES...
And I repeat, NO NEW FACES, that's very bad... at least now Lennon and Bale have callnames....

Disagree on this, generic stadiums are well done and almost well assigned to teams not having a specific stadium. For example the generic stadium applied to Fiorentina is almost LIKE the Artemio Franchi stadium. Also Udinese generic stadium is good to be generic...

We have the same faces of FIFA 11 Consoles... Unfortunately they are using a new way to do faces, but they always do few of them...

You have to learn defending ways and you will find that you can defend quite well...

It is not true, maybe you have a pirated version (or only the demo) where custom tactics are locked, but, in the full game, you can move players in the pitch in the same way you did with FIFA 10 PC.

And trainings in this manager mode are not only useless but harmful because players start the season with bad form and high fatigue so if you make them do trainings you could get even worse fatigue...

You have to learn defending ways and you will find that you can defend quite well...

Defending line is one of the worst tactically and this is proven since last year on consoles. It was improved on consoles but now we get the broken version.

Yes, I can move players on the pitch, but there aren't predefined pitch position individual for each team, it's just 4-4-2 (for example) and you have too make your own tactics. If you have auto assistent (for players fatigue, etc) you should have team's real life tactics... eaven though you would change it!

Fifa 11 final game. Is a huge step forward. The game looks and feel fantastic. I'm playing my first season in Manager Mode and I Can say, I love this Game.

The only thing messing with my little brain is :

Werder vs Hannover = I lose 2-6 on Professional difficulty
Werder vs Leverkusen = I win 9-1 on Semi-Pro

How the heck does the AI get THAT much better(or worse) with just one difficulty tweak?

And technically, Leverkusen are a MUCH better team than Hannover(even in the game ofc)

One thing I like is that the league table is almost identical to real life. Bayern don't get relegated to the 2.Bundesliga like in Fifa 10
