Fidel, I've been playing FIFA off and on since 1998, buying the newest version every three or four years. I have to say, you've probably done more to advance the game than EA has done in 13 years. Really awesome work!
Two things that have bugged the heck out of me about every FIFA version I've played... I don't know if you have access to what needs to be changed in order to affect these things, but if anybody could fix them, I'm betting it's you...
1) Goal kicks & free kicks always, since the beginning of FIFA time, come down to a 1 on 1 fight between 2 players who know from the moment the ball is struck exactly where it's going to land. The result is that usually the stronger of the two wins the header, every time, and heads it to a player on his team, perfectly, every time.
IMHO it would really make the game more dynamic if the occaisonal long ball knuckled, curved, got lofted or knocked down by wind mid-air and landed where nobody is expecting it to land...
2) You can play an entire season in Manager Mode without getting one yellow card if you avoid using the sliding tackle button. In most football matches I've seen, a player who commits 3 fouls in ten minutes of play is probably getting a card, regardless of how severe the third infraction is.
I don't know if it's possible, but a 'match tension' variable would be neat. Increase it with each foul. More tension means the AI plays more aggressively and ref is more inclined to dish out cards for benign fouls. Tension would dissipate with each 5 mins that goes by.
Just a couple of ideas... again, really outstanding work Fidel. I don't have time to play much, maybe 6 or 7 matches a week tops, but I'm really enjoying it when I do have a go. Playing top teams feels much different than playing the bottom feeders now and I really have to have my A game on when playing Bayern Munich, while a match against Mainz is a walk in the park and a chance to run up the score and have fun. As it should be.
Cheers,
